Rangers wait for £2m deadline skipper bid

08:38 AM 01 February, 2009

Newcastle United are poised to take advantage of the precarious financial situation at Ibrox by making a late move for Barry Ferguson.

Rangers' need to sell has not changed throughout January and with Kris Boyd seemingly going nowhere, Ferguson will be sacrificed if the Premier League outfit come up with £2m to pair the Scotland man with recent signing Kevin Nolan in midfield.

If we absolutely have to sell a player, I'd take £2million for Ferguson.

Agree!

He was completely lost in the midfield on Saturday and I feel we would be better without him.

Move Davis into his position and put Naismith or Novo on the right.

Can only see this going ahead if we sell Bougherra.

Only worry regarding Ferguson is that there is little or nothing in reserve for that position. Davis or Mendes injured and we only really have the permantly injured Edu as back-up.
