Financially, where are we now?

Recommended Posts

Could it that while we "need" the money, that need is not crucially imminent? Instead it could be the money would allow the board to relax a bit and create head room in the cash flow. The fact we didn't get the money just means that we are living closer to the edge of our credit with not much contingency, and that we now have to somehow realise a few million in the summer to balance the books?

Reports today suggesting that eight players will leave in the summer, including Ferguson, Boyd and Novo, along with Daily, Hendami, Weir and Adam........

Surely a lot of that could be lazy journalism due to Smith's comments about us reducing the squad due to attrition and contract expiration ?

In looking at it there is good reason to see why those would be the players leaving

Ferguson, Boyd, Novo, Adam - Adam already out on loan and the other 3 all touted for moves during January

Hemdani, Dailly, Weir - contracts up in the summer anyway.

Thinks more to do with the fact of when there contracts expire - Novo and Ferguson entering the last year of theirs. Looks like Rangers WILL sell Boyd sooner rather than later, no matter what the fans think?

That has to be the conclusion, Cammy. It looks like we are entering another phase of downsizing, even more dramatic that the beginning of the McLeish years. If we win this league campaign, Murray will get away with it. If we don't then all hell will break loose and it could be chaos.

If Rangers fans want to influence the direction ahead, they really need to delay any uptake of season tickets. Better still, just don't renew - amazingly, with the exception of OF games, it is perfectly possible to watch Rangers every week without a season ticket. No, it's true.

And in the long run, Rangers would make MORE miney if fans did this instead of blindly renewing season tickets!
