My parents were in attendance at Glasgow Empire on the evening Bernie and his brother, Mike attempted to entertain a baying audience. Mike had been on stage for 3-4 minutes, interupting his clarinet playing by telling a few jokes. Groans abounded, the Empire took great pleasure in being the graveyard of English comics. Anyway, seeing it was NOT working, Mike ushered Bernie on to accompany him, earlier than usual. Bernie walked on with all his teeth showing and from the back stalls, "awe naw, there's fucking two of them".
