Tactically, we have no idea how Ancelotti will set up, so that statement is rather unfounded. We know exactly what tactics Martin employs, as will every other manager in the division.

If the new owners employ Ancelotti any excitement and positivity from Friday instantly disappears. Gerrard Mk11 is not what we need.

Ancelotti looks strong favourite at this point imo. Worked at Everton with Purdy. Thelwell and Purdy have been in the works for a while it seems so this might be why Ancelotti is in the picture at all.

Generally not over Moshiri's (sp?) spell, but over the last few years their fans have been quite happy with the signings made under Thelwell's stewardship, in very difficult financial circumstances.

I haven’t kept up to date with English football at all I have to confess, but I thought Everton were not known for shrewdness in the transfer market. Would like to see a report card on his signings. I’m holding out hope we get a helping hand from Red Bull like Leeds have had.
