Barisic !!!!!!! -
Then why talk about Thursday night’s game with regards to sectarian singing ?
-
We don’t need face to face meetings to determine which words shouldn’t be used. It’s self explanatory.
-
Yeah, the single biggest difference I’ve seen in a Goldson this season is his willingness to make vertical passes into midfield rather than horizontal to his fellow CB. its intentional from the management team IMO. Vertical passes from your CB cuts out a number of opposition layers with one ball. It gets us on the front foot quickly.
-
Questioning authority is exactly what we should be doing. But do it from a position of strength. we can both question authority AND clean up our act to protect the club.
-
Does that really matter ? The “what about them” excuse is childish. We have words being sung that we know aren’t allowed - yet we have fans acting like 5 yr olds, pointing their fingers everywhere else instead of at themselves. FARE aren’t impartial, we know that. But give them nothing to report us for and we then can make that complaint from a position of strength. Make the complaint now and it’s from a position of weakness. So tiring listening to some of our support being stupidly defiant. Defiance is great but in this instance it’s misplaced because the ONLY thing it will do is have the stadium closed in its entirety and see the club lose at least £1 million. Those same fans will complain when we can’t afford to spend £1 million on a player and lack all sense of self awareness that it would have been their fault.
-
Its willful ignorance by those who want to continue singing. They needn't bother telling me they love the club if they continue given they now know what their continued use of banned words and songs will result in.
-
50,000 at an average of, say, 30 quid a ticket is 1.5 million in lost ticket revenues. Not including, presumably, hospitality.
-
It's sad to see some among us ignore the best interests of the club just to retain their freedom of expressions - we now know what will happen with a further occurrence - anyone singing banned songs or words we know shouldn't be sung, can't really profess to love the club when their actions could result in significant loss of revenue, can they ? We know FARE aren't impartial - but continuing to sing such songs in defiance hurts the whole of Rangers - shareholders, Board, management, players and staff. Is it really worth it ? Or would it be better to clean up our act and then shine the light on other behaviours that should be punished ? We really are stupid as a support at times.

However, the closure is due to a home match......

6 million to us is a LOT of money - however, I would suspect that the Board and management team see spending that money on Kent as a speculate to accumulate cost, though a risky one. Kent performed well in Europe last season and also in the bigger games such as the OF games. Continue to do that and you hope that someone will come in with a decent bid for him - this is not dissimilar to what Celtic are trying to do with Edouard. Risky policy but if it helps us become champions then that also means another season for Celtic to be out of CL money and an even greater need for them to downsize their wage bill. King may very well be right that Celtic not having CL money for a couple of years could become a house of cards for them. -
The closure isn't to do with last night's game but the game at Ibrox against St Joseph's.
-
I wouldn't deem them costly if we win games, unless of course a title goes down to goal difference
-
Did you just describe my soon-to-be ex-wife ?
-
Comparing ourselves with what they do is half the problem. Instead of pointing at them and saying "what about them" the smart thing to do would be to clean up our own act and, once done, THEN point at them and show them for what they are. We aren't politically smart as a fanbase.
-
Some fans merely want to act the smartarse to try to show their intellectual superiority - it's nonsense of course. These same people will say they are staunch, at the same time as financially harming the club they profess to love. Rangers fans, wha's like us ?
-
That wasn't a European game though, was it ?
-
Think I might just vote for Goldson to keep pete happy - he is God after all
-
So a player can only be MOTM material if they have a perfect display ? We can now officially cancel all MOTM polls for the season as there won't be anyone we can vote for
-
Enjoyment and having a nightmare aren't mutually exclusive though. Youre both having a nightmare and enjoying it - masochistic by any chance ?
-
Some fans just don't get it and want their "freedom of expression" and couldn't give two shits whether it harms the club or not. We are the world's worst set of fans in terms of self harm. Will we EVER learn ??

One would have to think that we already have someone lined up if we allowed this move ? -
You're having a nightmare here pete. Not one person on here considers Goldson a "god". Not one. Katic has played well so far this season and deserves plaudits, but he IS prone to mistakes, as is every other player, Goldson included. You were, IIRC, fairly quiet when Katic was playing against Hamilton last season (plus the games either side of that) and was having an absolute nightmare of a time - much of the reason he was pulled from the team - because, at that time, he couldn't be trusted. He is, right now, our best CB in my mind and deserves tons of praise, particularly given he is keeping Helander out of the team. If he keeps up this form I would imagine that our CB pairing will ultimately be Katic and Helander - but, positively, when was the last time we had FOUR CB's we felt we could trust - with Helander, Goldson, Edmundson and Katic we have the defensive spine of our team for years to come with all of them being fairly young - Helander being the oldest at 27 I believe. What a position to be in defensively Why can't we just accept that ALL players make mistakes, point them out when they happen, but not see that as being some sort of "he's shite" observation or as being a "his CB partner is god" observation ???
