  1. That was the first good piece of play I have seen from celtic today. Good slick passing from the back, under pressure from us, across the pitch and in behind. Thankfully nothing came of it. For their first good piece of play to take 63 minutes, it shows we have done a reasonable job (or they just are not that good!).
  2. By my count that is about the 5th foul Dembele has had given against him, yet Hill was booked for his third.
  3. Wilson with his third chance created for celtic so far today. For a supposed football playing centre half, he really has a crap first touch! So sad to see someone I thought was going to be a fantastic defender be just so dreadfully awful. Here comes Windass on for McKay.
  4. Hill booked now for what Madden called his third foul. Will we play what minute does our red card come in? I will go for 65th.
  5. Its a decent strike, and 100% it should have been blocked by Hyndman who has been poor, but I want my keeper to be stopping shots along the ground from outside the box to his near post every single time. Thats his job!
  6. McKay stuck out on the wing with Lustig and Bitton marking him is never going to get any rewards. get him into the number 10 position, get the anonymous apart from fouling Miller aff tae, and get Forrester/Dodoo/Windass/MOH out wide where they may leave them one on one, not two on one.
  7. Come on Ian, its hit from outside the box and he has a clear sight of it at his near post, yet fails to get a glove on it. Do you not think he should be dealing with stuff like that?
  8. They havent outplayed us at all in any of the games, they are just far more ruthless at making the most of opponents mistakes, and have a decent keeper who comes up with big saves.
  9. HT 0-1. We had the best chance of the half and were the better side until that chance went begging, which seemed to turn the tide against us, and dreadful closing down and goalkeeping then cost us a very cheap goal. We were hanging on for the HT whistle for the last 10 minutes. At only 1 goal down, we are far from out of it, but we have to win the midfield battle and take any half-chances that come our way.
  10. The midfield three are losing the battle here. We must shore up the midfield or we are going to get overrun. Miller and McKay need to be helping more when we dont have the ball.
  11. We must get through to half-time without another mistake leading to a goal. The gutting thing is I am about a minute behind live watching this in my office on the Ipad on Skygo, and so I got the goal alert coming through before I seen it. Horrible feeling to know you are about to see a goal against us in an OF game. Looks like the gaol has lifted them and knocked the confidence from us. So important to get to HT now to regroup.
  12. Oh FFS. Is Wes never, ever, covering his near post? Another really poor poor goal to concede to undo all our good work so far. Absolutely shocking goalkeeping yet again from the big diddy. Thats why I picked Jak as my keeper for today without ever seeing him play.
  13. FFS Wilson ggggrrrrrrrrr Thats him halfway to his predictable red card.
  14. Waghorn just missed an absolute sitter right through on goal one on one with Gordon. We just cannot afford to miss chances like that.
  15. Well we have not only survived the first 20 minutes but been the better side. We have silenced the crowd and are closing them down well high up the pitch. We look prone to the ball over the top and on the break so we need to be watchful.
  16. Waghorn booked for a clumsy challenge on Bitton.
  17. The scum really are the most horrible football club going. Absolutely screaming for every single throw in, foul, etc and fully backed up by the hordes in the stands. No wonder they get so much when they contest absolutely everything, even the ones that are 100% not theirs, and give off that look of disgust and wonder when a stonewall 100% throw in goes against them.
  18. A bright start so far. Miller was very lucky there he completely missed Armstrong or he was off. Two footed aeriel lunge had wee scumbag Brown screaming at the ref for a red card.
  19. Yes, and similarly I was pissing myself when they appointed Strachan and he did a good job for them. So it is not an exact science, but it does give you a good gauge if you are talking to guys that can be realistic about the rivalry.
  20. team news is official; Wes Hodson Hill Wilson Wallace Tav Holt Hyndman Waghorn Miller McKay
  21. A lot of managers prefer this method, and a lot prefer to keep them hungry and motivated right up till the last minute. Not sure whats best, I suppose it will suit some players better one way and other players will prefer the other. Not long to wait now for confirmation anyway!
  22. Good article from Gordon Smith there. The most worrying paragraph is "His team in Qatar have been playing in front of an average crowd of 400. They are sitting fifth in the league, 19 points off the top.Coming to the Glasgow goldfish bowl will be a completely new experience for him." How does someone with this current record even get their CV looked at by our selection panel? To me it would be thrown straight in the bin along with the other time wasters. My last comment on this is one I have held true over 30 years of going to see our games and discussing Glasgow football fortunes with friends and colleagues from the other side of the divide. If you really want to know if your new player/manager/coach whatever is a good pick, ask the other mob if they rate him. When they laugh in your face, you have got your answer. It works both ways. When they appointed Delia, Mowbray, Dr Jo, etc I pissed myself laughing at them trying to drum up some enthusiasm for a complete dud. They were genuinely concerned when we got Warburton in, so even though that didnt turn out so well it was the right appointment at the right time. When they are telling you they hoped Kiernan won his appeal, and are delighted to see Wilson and Halliday in the team, it tells you a lot. Pedro starts tomorrow, and his first game in charge in a simple one against Hamilton at Ibrox. Couldnt have hand picked it any easier, so this gives him the best possible chance to get to work positively. then a full week off due to the international break should see him getting his style and formation into place for the games after the break. Of course any kind of decent result today will be helpful but the very fact we have a new guy in place for training tomorrow should be enough to give us a boost. So good luck to Pedro and whoever he brings in as his assistants. I hope the players rise to the new challenge and embrace his ideals and methods that won over our directors in the interviews. I am sure some of our players are better than Warburton got out of them, so hopefully Pedro is just the sort of guy to get the best out of them. And if not, he can hopefully move a lot of them on and bring in players that will believe in him during the very short summer before the massive challenge of getting into the Europa League starts.
  23. The 60 CV's came from an interview with Stewart Robertson shown on Rangers TV, and quotes taken from that. You seem very certain of your info, so if you dont mind me asking, who was the other candidate on the (very) short list of just two put to the board. Who was on this panel that took 5 weeks to come up with just two names?
