  1. Spot on, I said at the time that I noticed McGinn pointing for a corner as if he appealed for a pen he might have been booked for diving. If this is all that rhat Stewart could come up with then it just shows how biased the referee was, and it wasnt in our favour!
  2. I didnt have audio yesterday but I heard it at Kilmarnock. It is absolutely disgusting and has no place at our matches. While I can argue all day about our right to sing (or otherwise) about fenians and IRA supporters, to be singing about catholics in general in this manner is abhorrent. It's not just a wee laugh or banter, it is downright sectarian hatred and I will have no part of it, and while I am not one for confrontation at the games (especially given the amount of brain cells anyone singing this must have missing) I was loudly discussing this at Killie that is was well out of order and shocking. Any fans caught singing this deserve all they get i'm afraid. I know its not a level playing field either in Scottish football or with the authorities, but there is no defence for this.
  3. My only surprise is your surprise! Should have stuck with the golf!
  4. However it does bring his judgement into question if he thinks Suzie is worth slipping one to!
  5. Not really all that fussed who he brought in. From recent interviews with Pedro on RTV where he discusses the back room team he has brought in and what their roles are, there doesn't seem anything of any great importance left to do for JJ or whoever got it. Seems more token than vital.
  6. It's a funny old game sometimes. On our last visit we were much better and lost. Today we were good at creating chances but we're not in the game for large chunks. A terrible pitch that bobbled and bounced was not helping either side, but given we have better technical players it affected the likes of Toral & Hyndman more than the hammer-throwers in red. Jack should have been off in only 3 mins but Clancy was Clancy. A terrible high lunge tackle was only a yellow about 20 mins in, and the elbow that broke Wilsons nose from Rooney was another certain red card IF the team jerseys were opposite colours. Miller was easily the worst player on the park for an hour today, I was well into double figures with the amount of times he gave the ball straight to Dolly, including the move that led to Dolly's best chance of the game. But an absolutely sublime finish for the opener and a cool composed finish for the second (not something even his admirers normally can say about him!) turned this game around just when it looked like there was only going to be one winner. You would almost think he was seeking a new deal or something! Thanks but definitely no thanks. For me the game turned on the impact of Dodoo on for the allheartnaetalent Garner, a master substitution to give us more pace and direct running. I was disappointed Dodoo was asked to play wide but I will give Pedro some credit in his after-match analysis as I only seen the game on tv from a bar in Liverpool with no sound (thankfully!) that he identified that was where Dolly were leaving space in their bid to win the game. A perfectly weighted pass from Dodoo to set up Millers second was so important, a lovely third goal and he also had time to crack one off the bar as well guaranteed him my MOTM award, with Wilson a close second. Talking of Wilson, what a couple of games he has had as the senior CH nurturing the two kids through two clean sheets against two very physical sides without putting a foot wrong. 2 games doesn't make up for two years of abject failure but he deserves some praise for stepping up when required. Hopefully the new manager has instilled some belief into him that MW couldn't, and he can push on and be the CH we all thought he was going to be. Finally we got an away win against a top 4 side after 2 seasons of struggles. Oh how those stupid dropped points under Murty hurt even more now. However Pedro cannot claim the credit for this victory, oh no. Tis yours truly to thank for that. My third missed game due to holidays this season, and we have won 3-0, 4-0 & 3-0. Anybody want to pay me to go on holiday for the semi-final?
  7. If he hasnt had a chance to comment before the game I will ask him on the bus down to Killie tonight as he travels on the same RSC as me. I will report back tomorrow!
  8. Copy and paste if you must please, this fantasist doesn't deserve the hits which then generates income for him to continue with this filth.
  9. Well that was different, surreal, enthralling, embarrassing, entertaining, pathetic, gripping over 90 minutes yesterday! The first half was, as many have said, about as bad as I have seen a Rangers side in many a year. No fight, no passion, nobody able to hold onto the ball, no sign of the high pressing we were told PC would get his team to play, and that I am told we did very well in the last game, and not one effort on target in 45 minutes at home to a side struggling in 11th. As the half time whistle blew and the booing rained down on PC, he turned to the subs and told them to warm up on the pitch instead of coming inside. So I knew sub(s) were coming and was pleased about that but nobody saw what was about to transpire when the three subs were stripped to come on. So I see Halliday, MOH & Garner ready to come on and I expect to see like for like replacements with three of the midfielders/forwards coming off. There was absolutely no sign of any injuries to any of the back 4. So to then realise that 3 of the back 4 were hooked, was astounding. Now I heard his post-match bull that they were all ill/injured but i'm not buying that at all. If both your full backs are goosed, and then your CH tells you his hammy is a bit tight, you dont hook him off without playing your sub defender, Senderos. Why have him on the bench at all if he doesnt get on with 3 defenders having to come off? I assume Senderos will be in to see him today to ask for his contract to be ripped up, as he clearly isnt going to get another minute of football if he doesnt get on in those circumstances. Halliday goes to left back, not his natural position (what is?) but he has played there before so fair enough. To move Toral to CH when he is your main playmaker supposedly taking the ball from the defence and creating forward play is just plain stupid. It didnt work at all and should have cost us a few goals were it not for poor finishing, poor final balls and some great saves by Wes, who thankfully had his best game in a Rangers shirt by a country mile. We then move Miller to Toral's position in centre mid where he just constantly got caught on the ball or gave the ball away. He puts on MOH and after the game says he wants him to play wing-back. MOH clearly hadnt a clue where his position was supposed to be and he ended up neither helping the defence nor helping the attack. He is not that great to start with but to ask him to do this was just nonsense. If Hodson was ill, and Wallace is injured pre-match, you either dont play both of them, or you have enough cover on the bench. His choice of bench, and then his choice of changes, was ridiculous, naive and borderline insane. We were only 1-0 down at half time and while we hadnt played well a few choice words and some tactical tweaks would have been enough, he panicked with the booing at half-time and went full mental. We did play a lot better in the second half due to Motherwell not being able to get away with the physical aggression and pressuring of us they employed int he first half, together with the Garner/Waghorn twin strike force giving them more to worry about and they sat much deeper as a result. We also managed to get the ball to McKay a lot more which worked. I dont think any of our improvement was down to the use of subs, which clearly made us wide open at the back. I couldnt believe they took Moult off (injured perhaps) as he was the tormentor and with Hill off he had free reign to score if he got the service, which thankfully he didnt. The game probably should have ended 5-5 or something similar with the quality chances missed by both sides (Hyndman should have had a hat-trick and had his worst game to date). It was certainly entertaining, and hopefully this sort of lunacy with the panic subs is a one-off and was Pedro trying to show off a bit. You can imagine if we had won 3-1 he would have said he meant the subs tactically and not the excuse he gave after a really poor draw. 2 wins out of our last 8 league games (under 3 different managers) has turned a healthy lead in 2nd into no chance of second. Not PC's fault that of course, but is the reality for the club. We just had to get 4 wins in a row between Hamilton, Motherwell Killie, and Dolly to have any chance of second, so now that is gone. Can anyone actually believe that with 8 games to go we have no chance of finishing second? Roll on the Killie game to see what madness PC comes up with for this one. Will we even bother starting with a back 4 this time round? Will we play anybody in their right position? Tune in and find out in the next gripping episode! At least i'm looking forward to it just out of curiosity to see what PC delivers, whereas for the last 12 months I have been turning up out of routine without really being enthused about it.
  10. Always hated winning the league while not playing - it has happened a couple of times in my time going to the games. So lets hope the Dark Blues can beat Dolly tonight and let timmy have their first untainted title in a decade. The 2008 title was tainted due to the congestion fix, the fake mourning and the Japan tour, 2012 due to us being docked points, and the last 4 are all tainted as they forced us out of the league for being a fraud victim. So congrats Timmy, you finally beat us fair and square, if having at least double the resources is indeed fair? We need to concentrate on catching Dolly, so any points dropped by them this week coupled with two good performances and 6 points for us against Well & Killie will set up the trip to Sheep Central nicely.
  11. Just clicked and Lo and behold it was a Liam Bryce that wrote it.
  12. That headline in the Evening Times is exactly what I knew the media would print, and is taking the whole thing completely out of context. Fan behaviour was a minor point and our fans were backed by Robertson. Whoever attended the press conference and wrote that on behalf of the ET should have their press pass for Ibrox rescinded immediately.
  13. The problem we have is our squad ain't good enough as it is. Take out Toral, Hyndman and the 3 out of contract players and we are really struggling depth-wise. Obviously Pedro wants to bring players in but this may not happen sufficiently quickly enough for them to be registered/available in time for the end of June start. Given how badly our last 3 Windows have gone, how much confidence can we have in our negotiating team getting these deals done quickly? Pedro may have a list of targets, but we didn't get MW targets across the line very often or very quickly, and I'm guessing those responsible for this (Robertson/Dickson I'm guessing) are still going to be in charge of this come the summer. I suppose we will see if the issues we had in getting players in over the last 3 Windows was down to MW/FMcP or the club's budget/negotiating skills.
  14. But but but Peter told Neil & Stuart that this was a good deal, nay, a great deal. Look back at your Daily Rhebel headlines from when the deal was signed for proof. Hypocrisy in the Scottish mhedia?
  15. So if the players want a longer holiday they have to ensure they don't make the Scottish cup final???? The calendar is far too congested, and when you consider our first competitive game was in mid-July under the new dreadful league cup groups that ruined our pre-season this year, it looks like we will have virtually no pre-season again this summer. Of course the calendar didn't just change this week, we have known this all year, so good luck to Pedro trying to get his players some rest. We should ensure all players with international summer prospects make sure their relevant managers know they will be unavailable this time due to fixture congestion.
  16. Every single one of our players SHOULD be in it, given the quality of the players named, some of which I've never heard of. I know it's just more click-bait, but if we were to take this as an honest assessment, then at least 10 of our players should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves, and their contracts ripped up! They didn't do a similar list last year when we would probably have had 8/9 of the 11 despite being a division lower.
  17. I don't know if it's an age thing (I'm mid40's) but I used to be able to name at least 5-6 players from every SPL side, and be impressed by a couple of players at each side we faced. Now the opponents are nameless, talentless, nonentities to me and I have rarely, if at all, came away from a game saying their centre midfielder looks a player, or their centre half was solid during this season. The quality of player and teams has dropped massively since 2012, which makes our current position all the more hard to take. If we had dropped this many points against good teams in a competitive league, I'd still be upset but at least it could be defended by saying in our first season back we should be looking at consolidation like other promoted sides against decent opponents. As it is, a lot of my angst over our performances and results this season is due to the, IMO, quite dreadful quality of the opponent, most of whom are battling triers with very little talent or qualities other than hard work and organisation.
  18. Your right, I was surprised when we signed Holt, and still don't believe MW was behind that one, he just didn't fit the mould of the other signings. Out of that Hearts side, the midfielder, former Arab, was easily their star man, and I can't say I noticed Holt much if at all during our 5 meetings with Hearts that year. To be fair, I was mostly watching through my fingers!
  19. If they are genuine Rangers supporters fan blogs, then it would be suicidal PR for the club to attempt to shut down our own, like it was for the Easdale/Ashley block. Our enemies however, deserve the full weight of the law against them, and as often as it takes to shut them up.
  20. The away "leg" was one of my favourite Euro trips. We were having a dismal domestic campaign but Eck got the tactics spot on in Europe and, with a bit of luck as well, we somehow sneaked a draw with a late McCormack goal which sent us wild and put us in pole position to qualify. The Porto fans actually applauded us (fans) out the stadium as we sang non-stop all night. On leaving the ground we had to go through an underpass to get out, the noise underneath that was incredible. The match took place in late November from memory and while Baltic at home, we sat in a courtyard bar the night before the game till midnight in short sleeves and had the sunburn to go along with the sore heads next morning.
  21. It probably is a worthwhile thing for us to be getting involved in, but I can't help thinking that the local residents who continually complain to the police and councillors are just bitter haters that want to make things as difficult as possible for our club and our supporters. One thing I was glad to hear and has been something I have been going on about for years is the match-DAY experience for fans. Anyone who has been to professional American sports (NFL, MLB), will know that they see matches as a whole day event, where the club can be earning money all day from the fans not just at game time. Fanzones, street football, kids areas, bars, better choice of food outlets, more and better merchandising outlets (subject to SD deal at the moment obviously). Make fans want to arrive at Ibrox hours before kick-off and spend the whole day there. To do this right and to change supporters attitudes on this will take a generation (not a SNP generation, a proper one!), so the sooner we get started the better.
  22. Good analysis Gaffer, I am much more interested in our ability to defend set plays than our offensive contribution. Under Warburton with Wilson & Kiernan at the back it felt like every corner was like a penalty and it only had to be good delivery for a goal to come from it. We certainly conceded more than 20% of goals from set plays (or it felt like it anyway!). The one thing I pulled MW up for on day one and continued throughout was his naive notion that he didn't look at the opponents, it was about what we did. This was fairly evident in our defending during his tenure. Like MW however, Pedro is on a total charm offensive with all the right words and phrases, so let's hope he has more walk than talk.
  23. I don't see one good player that we should be wanting in our side next season on that list, perhaps with the exception of Clint Hill if we can find him a good new partner that then allows us to use resources in other areas. The best player apart from Hill on that list is Commons but no thanks.
  24. Thanks FS, I am amazed at that very high number. We really did get everyone believing this was going to be a successful season last June!
  25. I was happy enough with the performances last season and players like Holt, Waghorn & McKay were worthy nominees. They don't have to be Laudrup to be worthy, but my point is merely that this season has been so utterly disappointing that we shouldn't be celebrating such mediocrity in this fashion, a big glitzy expensive dinner bigging up dismal failure. Lewis McLeod in his final season was outstanding in a poor side. It can happen. I'm saying, this year, IMO we haven't been good enough or consistent enough, as a team or individually, to merit it. There is however a helluva lot left to play for this season, and it may well be that we can review this at the appropriate time, I.e. after lifting the Scottish Cup!
