  1. I have been watching Rangers do that for years in pre-match warm up routines, way back to Smith's era (2nd time around) when my son as a youngster always wanted to go in the ground early to watch the warm-up (I suspect this was just to get his hot dog quicker!). This happens around 2.30-2.40 before the final shooty-in at the keeper and then in for final preparations. Give it a Spanish name and say Barca do it and it suddenly becomes trendy????
  2. Can I add that I have no problem with Miller becoming a coach at our club. He gets a clean slate as it is a new job. It makes a lot of sense to promote someone already well liked within the squad. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesnt. I hope he can go on to be a great coach for us. He has played under a lot of different managers and styles throughout his nomadic career and seems fairly intelligent so there are a lot of positives for Miller to make a good coach. If that is with us all the better. If Pedro gives him another year's playing contract I will be really upset however as that will drain (no matter how downsized the playing side of the contract is) the budget and prevent another player (Dodoo/Hardie/new signing) from getting a chance if Miller continues to get playing game time and a place in the squad. In my book, Miller has to choose between furthering his playing career (elsewhere) or retiring and concentrating on coaching (here). That is entirely his choice to make, but I hope it is the choice he is given.
  3. Well it is strange that it is only when Miller is playing the central role in the front three that we ask that player to drop deep. When Waghorn/Garner or any other player is occupying that position (very often in the same game when the front 3 rotate) then they are never as out of position as Miller is. You call it dropping deep, I call it out of position! I would add that being at the games live gives you a greater perspective to see these things than on tv, as much of it is off the ball, but being in Bermuda sounds a lot better for the rest of the time!
  4. Boring to repeat this, but my dislike of Miller as a player pre-dates him playing for the bheasts. I was celebrating when the bheasts wasted money on him as it meant they couldnt sign a proper player for the huge wages this guy has picked up everywhere he has been. I care not a jot that he played for the tims. I was a big fan of Mojo in a Rangers shirt. I actually was pleased when Wilson came back as I thought he would be a good player for us but it turns out he is rubbish and wasted his career by going to Liverpool at the wrong time. Pick any guy out of the crowd to give 100%. That is not a reason to support a player, it is the bare minimum expected of them. For the guy wearing the number 9 jersey for Rangers to not be in double figures for goals in mid-March despite playing in every game bar one is a shocking statistic that in this case tells the whole story of his season, an absolute failure. Add in that he had a poor season last season, an absolute stinker (like everyone else) in the season before that, and his three year third spell at our club has been an complete disaster. His first touch goes further than most can kick it, his finishing when given time to think about it is truly awful, his pace has completely gone, his passing is abysmal, his reading of the game and positioning is below average. His heading is average. Feel free to point out where any of these attributes are wrong. He is so bad he lunged in with a two footed tackle on Sunday in the first five minutes and didnt even get booked never mind sent off because he missed the guy by miles. Had he connected he would have been sent off and left us with 10 men for 85 minutes. I could (and other Gernetters know this well!) go on and on and on about this guy's footballing inabilities over his career. And not one thing has to do with his badge-kissing of the hoops.
  5. I'm far from gutted about this. I believe the keepers have shown no progress on the areas they are lacking on under Jim's watch. For Wes, his positioning and reaction time are his biggest downfalls. He far too often cannot get to shots from distance because he is not in the correct starting position, or moves too late. It looks like a full stretch dive in vain when it should have been saved (take Sunday as an example) if he was in the right position. I would expect the coach to pick up on these things and to see improvement over time in the keepers abilities in his weak areas. I thought the same with Neil Alexander that he kept getting beaten by bad positioning, also under Jim's watch. Bell was poor also. What was the common link (apart from they are all not great keepers!)? A few inches either way is a massive difference in that position, and these things can win you over 10 points a season. I am disappointed that after a long amount of service he wasnt allowed to see out the season to his retiral, but if PC wants to bring in his own full team of backroom staff and coaches (how much is this going to cost to get rid of them all if it doesnt work out?) it appears Jim Stewart has to go with our thanks.
  6. I have no problem if Pedro wants to use Miller off the field and I agree with most of what you say about him. He seems respected and a good influence on the squad outwith matches. I just don't rate him as a player and believe our team is better without him in it. However I think there are many far better qualified to advise Pedro what is required and what our rivals feel about us, from actual Rangers supporting ex-players not a Hibbee that jumps ship at the first sniff of a pay rise.
  7. Yes, the more time he got with the players the more things seemed to improve after that awful 6 days when we saw 2 of the worst performances ever seen by a Rangers side at Dens and ICT. Like any coach should be doing, he studied the opposition and adjusted his formation, selection and tactics accordingly. My biggest criticism of Warburton was in consistently failing to do this. Doing all of this while in a temporary capacity, with players knowing he is probably not going to be in charge past the next game, is a very difficult situation and one our board should never have put him in. He has actually benefitted from the boards dilly-dallying as he was able to make up (a bit!) for the Dens and ICT debacles with solid performances at Ibrox and signed off today with a gutsy draw that should have been a victory. So thanks for your efforts Mr Murty, now go back to the Under 20's and produce us a conveyor belt of talent that will be able to step up into the first team.
  8. Thats a brave prediction sir, I hope you are right.
  9. Dont be daft Ian, not even a mention of it. The post-game show gave us some credit for fight and application and sticking in even though we are miles behind them, but mainly concentrated on the fact that even though the tims were gash they were only denied by a referring error. Brenda only wanted to talk about the penalty. Boo-feckin-hoo. Hill clearly gets the ball, and Strachan correctly states this and the fact that Madden can see the mvoement of the ball's trajectory so there is no way he can give the penalty just because the scum want it. In other words, its not a feckin penalty!!! Had it happened in the other box, the would have concentrated on the touch the defender got on the ball and praised the referee for not bowing to the appeals for a penalty and making the only call he could make. Always cheated, never defeated since 1B88.
  10. Big Clint and Murty were outstanding in their post-match interviews on Sky there. I dont know how Murty can oversee such dire performances at Dundee and Inverness and then get that work-rate and performance out of them today. Or was this the Pedro factor today in that they all know the new guy is watching and they are playing for the futures? And the penalty has only had about 20 replays so far. hee-hee. Big Brenda is up next after the break, and as they go to adverts they show him confronting the referee about not giving them a non-penalty. GIRFUY Brenda!
  11. I will see your mullions and raise you gazillions!
  12. The compliance officer only looks at things which are highlighted on BBC Celtic, or the Daily Rhebel. At a push, a phone call from Lawwell. There is absolutely 100% no chance of either of those incidents even making the highlights reel, never mind being discussed by our mhedia or the compliance officer.
  13. Well done Bears, a good fighting performance and with any luck we could, and should, have beaten them. I'm actually gutted that we only got a draw with the two chances for Waghorn and the really poor goal we conceded. And I never thought that was a likely scenario that I would be gutted with a draw at 11.55am this morning. The Shettlestons are gutted as Brenda goes around them all. If Craig Gordon is not MOTM I will be amazed. He was the difference between the two sides. Gives us a bit of pride back. Well done Murty and the players.
  14. First time in years a ref has been man enough not to give them a dodgy penalty when they are all screaming for one.
  15. What a challenge from big Clint - sheer desire and guts to get something on that and stop a certain goal.
  16. Im going to edit this to get a deserved WINNER now!!!
  17. YYYYYYYeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssss Justice
  18. Come on Gers, push this last 5 minutes and get a deserved equaliser!!!!!!
  19. Fannying about at the back almost costs us again there.
  20. Dodoo must be absolutely fecking gash in training!!
  21. It's not been Waghorn's day so throw Dodoo on for the last 10 mins.
  22. Oh unlucky wee Holty. What a great tackle to win it back and then just wide from a tight angle.
  23. at long last a yellow card for the mong!
  24. celtic going for the kill now with another striker on for a midfielder. Hopefully this gives us a bit more parity in midfield to create another chance.
  25. Waggy slightly unlucky there but has to score. probably goes down more as another good save as it was behind him and he had to hit it first time under pressure.
