  1. So no different from any chat in a Rangers pub or supporters bus (perhaps minus the sexual tension!) Why would anyone bother then?
  2. 3rd signing of the window, and another purchase for a position that was already well covered, with a fee paid as well from our minuscule budget. Still no striker or centre half.......................
  3. How many times does the Rhebel have to print lies before they are banned?
  4. I get that coop, I just personally would never watch a program like that on tv, it's so sad and depressing. I'm surely not alone in this? Ricksens devastating plight is really well known already, this begging for £20K to make another piece of film about him, which isn't going to be good viewing, just doesn't sit right with me from the film-makers.
  5. Thanks for the reply. I had a look in settings, but in the notifications section I could only disable emails from admin/members/friend requests. I don't think that's what I'm looking for?
  6. I don't have time for podcasts so unaware of the format of this one -is it just some Bears chewing the fat or is there any proper info, speculation etc?
  7. When someone replies to a post I've made I get an email telling me about it. How do I turn this off? I'm on the forum often enough to see any replies without my inbox getting full! Any help gratefully appreciated.
  8. Surely the £20K would be better going to MND charities, than to pay film makers wages to produce a film about such a sad plight. I would certainly never watch a film showing a young guy with a young family wasting away with a horrible condition.
  9. The issue is not if we will finish second, but what squad we will have ready and gelled together for the crucial Europa Cup qualifiers that will determine if we can do two things for 17-18. One, attract players to play for us. Two, have a budget where we can attract players to play for us. The time to get the squad ready for next season, given the qualifiers begin in June and we will have no quality pre-season as any reasonable teams are on holiday, is NOW. This transfer window should have seen us hugely active, both in and out, and has been (with the disclaimer that we can hope things happen in the next 30 hours) a complete disaster, with ZERO improvement or movement (loanees that go away in May cannot count for what we need in June). It is impossible to know if the fault lies with Warburton, Robertson, McParland, the Board, or a combination of all 4, but we have missed the chance, IMO, to ensure we have the best possible squad to progress to the group stages of the Europa, which should be our first priority for 2017.
  10. That pyro stuff by the wee scumbags masquerading as Rangers Ultras fans has to stop. We must try to do more to catch and life ban any idiot who uses this crap at our games. It seems to be more of an away game thing, especially at grounds where CCTV is not as good. Union Bears should do more to condemn this action, which is done in their name whether they like it or not and whether the offenders are members of UB or not. I might have missed it, but I don't seem to have ever seen a strong statement against pyro coming from them.
  11. Yes we did, but it mainly came from our bench who reacted angrily, not really from our players on the pitch. However Motherwell were at that tactic all day, where we had a couple of bad tackles against our players that we didn't "bring to the refs attention"! Didn't get a good look at Kiernans as guy in row in front chose that moment to stand up and block my view, would be surprised at Collum if it was even close to being a red card and he didn't give it though. Although when you think about it, our opponents won't want Kiernan to be suspended as he is always worth a good chance or two, so perhaps Collum was playing the long game!
  12. First 30 mins were awful, looked to me we were going to get pumped until it went to 10 a side. Last 30 minutes was probably the best we have played away from home all season (not that there are many candidates for that award!). The extra space for Hyndman and McKay in midfield worked really well for us, but it was only when Miller was moved to a wide forward role when Waghorn came on that we got bodies into the box like at our first goal. If that same move had happened 15 minutes before Miller would have been at the edge of the box and nobody would have been where Waggy was to create the chance. With Miller as a lone central striker we looked unlikely to score at all. We need a focal point in there to attract the attention of the defenders, not someone who adds to a congested midfield. Plus points are we got only our 5th away win of the season, MOH will surely now be finished as a Ranger (the jury are back and the verdict is he is pish) after that idiotic red card that could/should have cost us 3 points. Toral & Hyndman had good second Halfs and with neither having had much match time this season should improve as they settle in. Negatives - Kiernan & Halliday continue to be selected despite neither being anywhere near close to good enough. Subs continue to look like they are selected pre-match both with timing and on and off selections. Wes's distribution remains frustrating. Delighted with win and clean sheet after a terrible start, but so much still to do with now only 3 days left to the window "slams" shut (it always slams, doesn't it!).
  13. Thats a shame!
  14. Yes I know full well we need to improve EVERY area of the team, but what is costing us games is at centre half and centre forward. It's been the same for 12-18 months. This is MW 4th window to get these key areas right, and all we seem to be linked with is midfielders. It's very frustrating!
  15. The death of the daily rhebel can't come quickly enough. Our club could, and should, help in their demise by preventing them ANY access to pressers, press box at Ibrox, and fine any players, coaches or Directors that speak to them. If I won a huge rollover jackpot and bought the club, it's the very first thing I would do.
  16. Another midfielder.........sighs.
  17. Not having a pop, each to their own and all that, but I don't get why Bears would want to go on other teams forums, with the possible exception of on match days if we have just pumped them!
  18. Am I right in saying that if that game is a draw, our league match at Tynecastle will be binned again? Don't know if I can bring myself to watch it but hope our two do really well. I would have Hardie in my team/bench and not out on loan as I think he would be better served getting the game time that others have had in our team, and although we haven't seen a lot of Thompson, he is spoken highly of by those who have seen a lot more of him. I'd be happy with a Rovers double tomorrow!
  19. Well that was honking, again. Our play under Warburton this season is boring, passive, conservative. Our lack of goals is obvious, as is our inability to defend properly. No team in football is successful with both these traits. 21 days into the transfer window, and we have brought in two loanee uninspiring midfielders - absolutely astonishing. My confidence in Warburton is fast disappearing. His continual selection of undeserving players, his continual subs lotto, I could go on. For an inexperienced manager I have been happy to give him time but there is little sign of him even seeing where the faults lie never mind fixing them. We have our second lowest scoring (goals per game) record post-war (only 1984 was lower) but this is never really mentioned anywhere. Going to our games this season is the same feeling as going to watch Ally's final season, you know you are not going to be entertained and you can't see where a goal is coming from, I just hope we can sneak a result, and fortunately we got lucky today thanks to some awful Motherwell defending at both goals. Makes a change to see others defend as badly as we do right enough! Happy that our season didn't end this afternoon, and hoping for another home draw (apart from THEM) in next round, but please please please get a feckin centre half and a striker in before the window shuts.
  20. Respectfully disagree mate, not all modern trends are an improvement on what happened before. With such a large world wide fan base, a club like ours can be having these minutes applauses 10 times every home game - where do you draw the line? Let's be honest, 99% of those applauding will know nothing of these lost souls. If you have been affected by this death, send a card to the family or make a donation to a cancer charity. Applauding the death of a cancer victim is sick in my very personal opinion, but I understand this new wave of social media grief and wouldn't dissuade anyone else from contributing in this way.
  21. Anybody any idea what sort of size of crowd is expected today? Cup ties have been very poorly attended in recent years.
  22. Applauding at a young life being lost is not something I will ever take part in, I find the idea distasteful in the extreme.
  23. If Leipzig paid £13M for Burke, based on "potential" who had done very little with a struggling side in the most over-rated league in the world, then there is no way in hell we should be letting a full internationalist go for £6M to the same side. McKay has a much better CV than Burke did, so why should we even stop for a second to consider such a paltry bid?
  24. As was debated at the time, the lad has failed to make it through a season to date without missing large chunks of it through injury. The tribunal fee of £7M would not put off any EPL clubs for the captain of the England U19 side IF it wasn't known he was too big an injury risk, perhaps a mental thing, perhaps bad luck. When we are restricted to signing journeymen from Accrington and can only get our 4th choice centre back, a 37 year old veteran, it just doesn't add up that the lad had ANY other decent offers on the table than to come to our treatment table. For the small fee it was most certainly a gamble worth taking, but come on guys, there can be no other plausible explanation for his arrival than the scenario I have outlined. Perhaps the lad is still growing and that has caused him to be more brittle than others, and he may come out of it a fantastically fit and technically sound professional that we will eventually move on for a huge fee after getting a lot of excellent performances out of him. He will certainly get first class support on and off the pitch/training ground from our club and fans to give him every chance, so hopefully we see him back soon.
  25. Rather than idiotic extensions for Miller and Hill, getting Barrie on the contract he has earned and will therefore ensure we get a fair sell-on price should be our manager's (and board's) number one priority.
