  1. I would take Kranjcar over PC any day of the week. Kranjcar worked his socks off for the full 90 minutes in Luxembourg but the formation and the players around weren't on the same wavelength. He looked distraught at the end, which is more than can be said for some of the others. If he thinks it's all going pear shaped then we are in BIG trouble. Kranjcar has the credentials which PC does not.
  2. Why did I know you would say that (twice) rather than answer the points I made. That's exactly the sort of response that you are wont to criticise others for making. However, I give in; you're right, as always.
  3. "A bloody child" that needs to "get a grip"; fair enough. I don't believe for one moment that you set out with the intention of influencing the result of the poll; but what I do believe is that your jovial comment may well have had that effect and for that reason it was wrong. If you can't or wont accept that then also fair enough. With an hour to the declaration of the result that according to you "(no one) actually cares that much (about)" I'll leave it at that.
  4. One thing is for sure, Pete, there's no chance of you finding out.
  5. I think most will do. It's always entertaining and you would be more than welcome as I believe I've said in the past.
  6. Or you can run the next one; or apply to be Craig's assistant.
  7. Just trying to protect the innocent and the integrity of the poll; obviously I've failed miserably on both counts.
  8. Clearly we see things differently from the point of view of the poll; otherwise, I'm in complete agreement.
  9. Clearly we have an entirely different sense of perspective. I'm not clear which part of my response was "ridiculous" but I'm eager to learn.
  10. It's called democracy, GS; but that's fine we can do away with polls in future and just let Craig name the day.
  11. Then you can carry on laughing at my expense. I thought, obviously wrongly, that the inertia position would be that it was a secret ballot unless I made it otherwise.
  12. IIRC you declared the last one to be "unofficial" because of the low numbers that led to cancellation of the speaker; personally I take the view that any dinner organised in the name of Gersnet is an "official Gersnet Dinner".
  13. I didn't notice you complaining about the arrangements for the four dinners you've attended in the past.
  14. It's an official Gersnet Dinner, Craig and correct you shouldn't have revealed how the votes stood. Far from being clouded in secrecy I am at great pains to spell everything out in terms of alternative dates, venues etc and this thread has had more than 1,100 views. People can obviously reveal how they voted if they chose to do so; but revealing how the poll stands is unfair because it could influence the result. I think that's obvious and I guess that's why the current standing of the poll is not on view to people before they vote. I see no point in running a poll unless it's run properly, whether it's for the date of "a bloody dinner FFS" or whatever. In future we can dispense with a poll altogether and I'll decide the date; better still you can run the next one and you can arrange it when it suits you. In fact why not cancel the poll altogether then you can have this one after the Celtic game. Meantime, I've run five pretty successful dinners to date and when I want your advice about how to do better, I'll be sure to ask. I put a lot of time and effort into running these dinners and I don't appreciate you belittling the event or telling me to "get a grip FFS". I'm perfectly calm and in complete control of my emotions, thank you very much.
  15. We have always allowed guests, space permitting. Your good lady will be more than welcome as well. Look forward to seeing you again.
  16. I have sent out a number of texts and PM's to folk who have attended in the past but not so far posted on this thread. So far as I am aware, therefore, everyone who has attended in the past should now be aware of the poll for the date of the next dinner.
  17. craig;694249] I wasn't aware that people could see the current state of the poll until they have voted and in all fairness I don't think those who have voted should reveal how things stand. However since there has been comment; in the event of a tie are folk happy that I make the final decision?
  18. Another reminder that the polls close at 11 22pm tonight.
  19. I'll scrub him for the Gersnet dinner then thanks.
  20. He played 90 minutes of every game in the UEFA Cup on the road to the final in 2008, so arguably he was a mainstay of the team even if he didn't get the same notice as the likes of Davis, Cuellar, Weir, Hemdani, Ferguson etc.
