  1. Right now, I don't really want any more project players. Chaps who need half a season to get going before getting injured. Even though the season eventually fell by the wayside, the band we had here last season still pushed the Scum much closer and injuries and "luck" aside, we might have grabbed a Treble. So the basis was there, we need to make it more solid.
  2. Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro says the decision on Relebohile Mofokeng's future will be left up to the 19-year-old midfielder amid links with Rangers. (Radio 2000's Game On) Penarol president Nacho Ruglio says the Uruguayan club have no need to sell Damian Garcia after the 20-year-old midfielder was linked with a switch to Rangers amid his contract dispute. (Montevideo Portal via Record) Rangers, St Pauli and Lecce are among the concrete suitors for Bayern Munich left-winger Yusuf Kabadayi after Schalke 04, where the 20-year-old was on loan, decided the the overall package for his return was too expensive. (Florian Plettenberg on X) Ianis Hagi all but confirms he is leaving Rangers as he sets his representatives the task of finding" the right team and the right manager". (Sun) From a Schalke-Fan re Yusuf Kabadayi ... Everything from wild to extremely strong. Certainly a player with pace, but was sometimes too playful for me and often not a factor in games. Improved towards the end of the season. The purchase option of 1 million was not exercised, and the player was dismissed, so definitely no return to S04.
  3. ... he could make the half of games that Balogun misses.
  4. We have Berliner whose pedigree is Nigerian, had a Bavarian whose pedigree is US-American, and now we are in for another Bavarian whose pedigree is Turkish. Looks like Germany has transformed into Little Britain ... 😱 The chap played 24 games for Schalke (BL 2) last season, scoring 4 goals, no assists. Very much a project-player like Tillman, but truth be told, I never saw anything of him in moving pictures.
  5. Rangers are interested in signing defender Reuell Walters with the 19-year-old having rejected the offer of a new contract by Arsenal. (The Scotsman) Rangers manager Philippe Clement has prioritised signing a prolific striker this summer. (Football Insider) Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq are ramping up their summer plans by preparing a move for Rangers defenders James Tavernier and Connor Goldson. (Al-Riyadiya) Rıdvan Yılmaz says he has no interest in leaving Rangers despite the 23-year-old Turk facing competition for the left-back position from summer signing Jefte. (The Herald) Panama centre-half Jose Cordoba headed for Norwich City instead of Rangers from Levski Sofia because the English club were willing to pay more up front in a transfer fee and more in wages to the 23-year-old. (Tema Sport) Damian Garcia has seen his "desire" questioned by Penarol head coach Diego Aguirre after the 20-year-old midfielder failed to sign a new contract amid links with Rangers. (Glasgow Times) One of those players could be Robbie McCrorie, after the Rangers goalkeeper rejected a new contract at Ibrox amid talk of a summer move to Pittodrie. (Daily Record)
  6. What we need for the Scottish game is 5+ attack-minded players, i.e. two strikers, two goal-scoring wingers and AMs that try to shoot and have a tendency of finding the net.
  7. Rangers will have to pay £4m if they want to land winger Oscar Cortes on a permanent deal from Lens, with the French club determined to recoup the sum they paid for the 20-year-old Colombian. (Daily Record) Sam Lammers will hold talks with Rangers before making a decision on his permanent future as FC Urtecht “want nothing more” than to sign him, according to VI. Writing on their website (1 June), the Netherlands news outlet report that the Ibrox club are in a great negotiating position after his form in the second half of the season saw him score 11 goals and register three assists in 20 appearances. Ben Davies is “likely” to leave Rangers this summer as Philippe Clement eyes a new left-footed centre-back this summer, according to Football Scotland. Writing on their website (31 May), the news outlet report that the former Liverpool defender is likely to be sold as Gers look to earn extra cash to bolster their budget for the transfer window. Chris Jack has admitted he will “be amazed” if Robbie McCrorie doesn’t leave Rangers this summer as the Light Blues eye a move for Liam Kelly. The 26-year-old stopper has found himself stuck behind Jack Butland in the pecking order at Ibrox this season, making only one single appearance throughout the year which came in the Scottish Cup. Reports suggest that Gers are closing on a deal to sign Aberdeen stopper Kelly on a free transfer [Daily Record, 27 May] and Rangers Review journalist Jack believes that will force McCrorie into departing Glasgow.
  8. Thomas Galdames ... The Chilean defender has been linked with a move to Rangers after impressing in Argentina with Godoy Cruz. He appeared to say his farewells this week after a Cup win, but Galdames has insisted he is in the dark about a move to Scotland and is preparing now to make his international debut for his country next week in a friendly next week against Paraguay before the Copa America tournament, where he was named in the squad. Asked directly about a move to Rangers, Galdames said: "I don't know anything about my transfer yet. I prefer not to say anything about it. "I don't want to say anything until something is concrete because there has been a lot of speculation. "The transfer market begins now, but I have to concentrate on the national team. "If I do get a transfer, it needs to be something that will be good for my career. That's what I have been working for since the day I became a footballer. "I want to play for my country and then go to the Copa America. "All I can say is that Godoy Cruz have treated me very well since the day I arrived here. "The people at the club have made me feel as if I was one of their own and that has honestly been very important to me to be able to perform, to be comfortable and happy in the club. "Until something happens, I remain a Godoy Cruz player."
  9. Back in the day of our first CL adventure, how many people did we have running the football-business side of the club? I only remember Murray and the tan-man?
  10. An Uru? Does it say anything about "running through brick walls" and "bits of human remains were draped round his neck like trophies"?
  11. Has there been a fee mentioned for Lammers?

  14. IMHO, goalies have never been a problem for us. We need to spend the money on good defenders. That said, I don't mind freebies either. We've been toiling up front with our system, while we leaked far too many goals from those few chances the opposition creates. Our stats must be amongst the worst in the league.
  15. Just had a look at the new CL "league sort of thing" system. What a farce. We've come a very very long way from that soggy night at Ibrox against Marseille to end up with this trash.
  16. Age is not really matter now, either way. If you are good enough, you are old enough. You see Leverkusen or Leipzig with half a team of kids way below 25 running away with games. Same in France and Spain. We (almost forever) have a tendency to sign "talented" youngsters, but also seasoned stars who by default make sure that the talent will hardly ever see the pitch of Ibrox. Only necessity meant that some youngsters were thrown in at the deep end and proved their worth. Only that the managers (of late) simply send them back to the bench/youngsters if the seasoned warriors came back (and usually the dire fare continued). IMHO, most of the chaps blooded these last two seasons hardly set a foot wrong. Brightest spark this season was McCausland, whose drive and bite were rarely seen on that flank with other people. How it can go was seen with Patterson and, to some extent, Bassey. Likewise, Weir, Davis and Balogun show that if the body is fine, people can nowadays go on to 35 with not much problem. A DM or CM is not exactly meant to be a sprinter these days, just grab the ball from the defence and do something useful with it. That aside, it looks like we are doing some business early in the window, which is good. The more, the better.
  17. ... and if you find any errors, you may keep them!

  19. A few low-key forwards are available for free this summer ...
  20. I would agree with most, but we should go 3-4-3 or the like most of the time. Or have two dedicated striker in every game, plus to winger-like players (which should not be fullbacks in disguise). Cantwell is THE creative spark that we have, plays the unexpected pass, lops a ball into the danger area etc.. I can easily forgive him most of his faults, he simply should be given a free role in front of Raskin and Diomande, who worked well. It is sort of bizarre that these two and Davies and Balogun/King looked safer at times than our regulars. The thing with those four is, that they "think" much more forward than most others we have in there, who have become far too comfortable with the square, side, or back pass, instead of grabbing the ball and use the open field in front of them to run at the opponent too. I still go by what I said back in January: the core of a team is there, they have the quality to get us to trophies. Since then, though, we lost most of our summer and winter signings and loans, i.e. most of those people who would have turned the tide - and for very long spells. To think that much of the season essentially hinged on a couple of low-key games we threw away, plus a handful of ridiculous VAR- and refereeing decisions, tells us that the solution is not that far away. History cannot be changed, though I hope that Karma will finally deal with them next season.
  21. For good reason, I kept the sound off for today and during most games anyway. Or use non-English stre... things. RTV aside, no matter what British channel is broadcasting our games, the encyclopedic knowledge of these chaps on opposition players who once took a corner against us or whose step-grandfather scored a goal against us is "amazing", and also tells us of their pedigree. I've decided to dedicate this day to Sir Walter, no matter the outcome of the game. So here's a glass to Mr. Smith!
  22. He is there to put the likes of Dundee to the sword late on. We do not need to waste the skills of Cortez, Sima, or Danilo and risk injury for that. It's a squad game, and he will be a squad player at clubs like us. No problem with that.
  23. There's only contempt in me for this Scum. Even if they are cannot draw on their money-given quality, Fortune has been a whore clad in green-white all season, or the refereeing rats helped them along. Hat's off to our hospital gang for giving all the 100 % that they have, can't expect much more. Onwards we soldier ...
  24. Wow, these rats descend into the deepest depths now.
