  1. Maybe I am wrong here, but methinks we shed much of the religious baggage - not least as a club - during the Souness and Smith eras. Sure the songs were sung, but they had already become Ibrox tradition that the real meaning only came to the fore during the Old Firm games ... and probably subsided with 80% of the support after 90odd minutes. We signed so many Catholic and whatnot players by then that their argument about a no-Catholic doctrine sounds hollow, for it essentially stopped 30 (as in THIRTY) years ago - IF there ever was one in living memory. Did someone ever answered the question why Irish Catholics or Ulster Catholics (people like Ray Houghton) never signed? Not because of themselves, but because they feared for their families on the Emerald Isle. After years of ineptness on the park, the Scum saw their opportunity in 2007/2008 and if you'd ask me, that is the time when they stirred all the shyte up again. It is, IMHO, them who portray themselves as the Irish Catholic side so much that like a description of twins, each time the topic Old Firm is on the agenda the old stereotypes come to the fore, whether they are true any longer does not matter. Where there is smoke, there must be fire. What is utterly baffling and ultimately annoying is that the press and politics rather hunt this fire and try to put it out than to actually check where the smoke is coming from.
  2. What's this "noon or bust" garbage now? Will their milk run sour at 1 pm? Strange game of mind poker this. As has been said before, these people should leave their mouths shut and get it done, rather than talking behind closed doors and throw insults and threats at one another when the door opens. BTW, people should abstain from laying into D&P time and again. While criticism might be due, none of those people on here - I reckon - have any clue about administration work (including TBK and BK), not least when it is such a heap of horror as Whyte and Co. left behind. As D&P have said recently, while this can and should not go on any longer, the club is actually only a rather short time in admin - compared to other administrations. We all want this to end yesterday, spouting bile time and again is sure not a way to get it done though.
  3. You do wonder what these chaps haring after us say to the team who won yesterday's Europa League trophy? Euro 130m in the red books, not paid tax and social insurance for their players for ages, spend 40m on Falcao and whatnot in wages on Deco ... and will have any repayment of tax debts suspended till 2020 - according to the SPanish government. Much like the rest of the Spanish league. Because ... it is their national sport and in the national interest. What's Scotland's national sport again? Curling? Golf?
  4. Long before this starts, the Edinburgh Evening News team has produced ... and I for one can take the banter in there. Good luck to them!
  5. ... and we should keep those in mind barking loudest these days. For the pendulum swings in both directions and one day or another ...
  6. Could very well imagine Walter - in his dignified manner - taking people like McColl in for a glass of whisky and talking him into spending a few million to keep this institution of football alive and well.
  7. A Scottish millionaire with 300m to 750m pounds to burn (pending your yource) ... who did not want to get involved directly though.
  8. Looks like we are in for some better news and some hectic couple of days ahead ...
  9. Who would not if one is served such stuff like the above and more gloom-singing in the next thread. As has been said before, we soon need no enemies with friends like these.
  10. You do wonder though how some feel comfortable sitting next to the bed telling you that the life support machine may fail, the nurse may put in the wrong antidode, and whether someone actually happens by to give you another bag of liquid food. What is even stranger is the amount of people who come along clapping the shoulder of said doom-singer while saying: look, he's right. You have to take these possibilities in, for they may become facts. And if you don't, you probably live in your own little world beyond reality. ... That they all just speak of their doom-and-gloom side of reality is neatly put aside though.
  11. Only if you put undue weight on every single word spoken. As for the money, Rangers pay what 180 people in total? Add to that running costs of Ibrox and MP and you will sure come to that figure in no-time.
  12. Doom-mongering ain't that funny, but we won't argue about taste here either. The topic is critical enough without people painting it in dark black and see oblivion looming in every corner ...
  13. Tonight he added on the BBC ... "Celtic will stroll to ten in a row now". He forget the drivel he uttered somewhat earlier in the season:
  14. ... the only thing Whyte did correctly was to bar the squad from talking to "failed attempts at journalism" like this fellow ... BBC Sport We should tell Ally and Co. that they should show the brains and not talk to this chap ever again.
  15. Ticketus going after 27m from Whyte, D&P going for 25m from Collier Bristow (sp?) ... you'd hope that they all get lost and keep us out of this shambles.
  16. Some people over on FF suggest that Ticketus / Octopus might be involved, with Whyte handing them the shares whilst they guarantee that they won't pursue him. That would give them quite a strong position in any deal ... or so they argue.
  17. This should be done in the way we did the transfers 5 years ago. Let the world and especially the dumbfounded Scottish press hacks only know when all is signed, sealed, and delivered.
  18. ... when you think the Hooped Horrors and their cohorts have hit rock bottom, they show their true qualities and get a bit further. This club and its following hordes laughs about the rest of the league and pisses all over them while they do it.
  19. There are reports on FF saying that this consortium has now agreed a deal with Whyte.
  20. I underlined the word of importance. We're speaking about 25 individuals here and by the sound of some, these chaps only wait for a newco to happen by to jump ship. That won't be the case with all players ... I for one would assume.
  21. I don't think we'll see him back at Ibrox.
  22. Again ticks many things the support wants to hear ... bar the name Whyte.
