Well, let's see how this turns out. In any case, someone should finally get the finger out here.
-
On a sidenote, if you where a chairman who has (as it seems to be) to look at every penny for the time being, wouldn't you ask your manager to cut the wage-bill by sending reserve-players (who have next to no games) or people unfancied out on loan? Whether or not you need the money to buy new players. Business-wise pretty logical. If only those who the gaffer selected were up for it not not seemingly running at 50 to 75% of their own standards.

Sir David Murray makes appearance at training ground
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
NB: It could, of course, well be that the doc at Murray Park is SDMs favored chap and he visited the ground to actually take in a game too, and visiting an "old friend or two". Nothing deeper involved and probably as likely as any scaremongering in the press or on the boards. -
Why would we send the "impressive" Estonian away and look at a South African instead. Will he cost 500 pound less in wages per week? Then again, the press will turn it in a way that make us look like loosers anyways, so what do we expect?

You'd always have to keep in mind that the reporter tells this story from his point of view, using the quotes of people as they see fit. Sometimes you wish that the info-trail wasn't as quick and hasted as it seems these days, for as nice as it is, quite a bit of hearsay/assumption/rubbish transfers into these articles for no better reason than being the first with these news. (On a sidenote, one hates to see that some of the gloom-mongers of the press on Monday looked into the correct crystal balls regarding the Jaager deal. This lot will sure dance a jig about every bad news they predicted correctly ... ) You wonder what Murray told McCoist though. Some insights about and reason for Whyte's dealings so far? -
Isn't what the OP quote in nigh direct opposition to what Whyte said himself a wee while back? Since he himself saw the dire need of players. Not that FB is a source you would trust, nor is twitter or whatnot. Anyway, the gaffer has since reiterated that there have no bids for any of our players so far anyway.

I doubt that they will simply sign him, after half a year of training with the national side, but no competitive game. Then again, O'Squeal may want to do his old club a favour, no?! Danny Very much depends on what you earned before, whether the tax case will have anything to do with your contract, whether you had Europe before and will or will not miss it for a half-season, and whether to see the low-form as your stepping stone into the first eleven., resurrect your career etc.. Or ... each coin has two sides.
-
... well, a 10% sell-on clause would be tempting, in addition to the 7.2m in hard cash.
-
If only ... the problem is, the hearing was scheduled for exactly three days.
-
My bad, Celik, of course!
-
As long as Ally signs only the trialists who turn into another Aluko, I have no problem with that. Cervik looks good, Jaager seemed to impress him, and I think Ally can spot a striker ...
-
Zlatan Muslimovic ... played his last game on May 25th, or so says Wikipedia. Cox is a 19-year old, while there was news about Bruins yesterday, so see above..
-
Methinks both Celik and Bruins can play in the Naismith role.

Well, yes. Since the case is apparently paraded as a precedence by HMRC, we/Thornhill probably presented as much evidence as possible to get a favorable result. Which of the evidence or points presented by our team are more relevant for the case remains to be seen. On a sidenote, are we actually represented by the MIH team (since they arranged the EBTs) or do we have our "own" lawyers here? For, as some said, this case may also have implications to MIH later on.
-
... unless, as some seem to think, Thornhill ripped HMRC's case to shreds and we have no "real" case to answer in the first place. Perhaps the predating of the 2010 ruling can be challenged.

Re: Jaager ... Weir was supposedly on 10k a week. Cervik gets 7k a week. I doubt Jaager will get much more than 3 to 5k a week. Fleck is gone too, so IMHO it is just a bit more rumour-mongering. Re: Jelavic ... I would assume he does not fancy West Ham in the slightest, so while the club may agree to sell him, he has no obligation to go there. Hence, he could e.g. ask for ridiculous terms.
-
Point taken! ;-)
-
Note that he "only" scored 10 goals in 70odd games for Feyenoord. Of course, I would assume that goalscoring in the Dutch first division is somewhat more difficult than it is in the SPL. @ Danny, I assume that Aluko will retain the left winger's slot till the end of the season. We have to see what Ally makes of "The Pitbull" and what position he uses for Celik. I for one think that we will see Davis and Edu for some time to com in there, with Hutton, Ness, and McCulloch on stand-by.
-
According to some Holland-based FFers, he's not bad, but a "headcase". Plays Naismith-style.
-
A 24-year old attacking / right midfielder, who is currently a freebie. Luigi Bruins, that is.
-
Ally should give any potential buyers a deadline of say January 28th, and after that no bids will be accepted. They had enough time to evaluate him and we need time to get in able replacements (and the clubs we get them from will want to get some replacements too).
-
Ally has confirmed that West Hams chairman has spoken to Whyte, but the latter has informed him that nothing whatsoever was "hammered" out in terms of Jelavic. There has been no bid whatsoever. Still looks after Saturday's defeat that Liverpool may come calling sooner rather than later.
-
BBC has a headline saying that Liverpool leads the chase, but the article itself has absolutely no information to strengthen this. Well, well ... (then again, Liverpool is indeed in dire need of a striker.)

Did Murray always deal legally and had no skeletons in the cellar, this or that dispute with the folk he dealt with privately or as a busniess-man? Only that the press at the time apparently did not deem it necessary to splash it over the pages, or did not dare? This thing has been around for a few weeks now and the DR clearly takes another opportunity to put the boot in here ... and from what we can read on here it seems the strategy works.
