Horrific is a bit OTT. Alan McGregor, Teirney, Robertson, McKenna, McDonald, Cairney, Armstrong, Fraser, Jack, McGinn, Callum McGregor, Forrest, Ritchie and Naismith are all operating at EPL/Championship or SPL level. Recently qualified teams like NI and ROI would love those players IMO. The problem is not the squad, it's the prehistoric managers we choose to employ.

It’s not all that long ago we were made up of mainly higher end EPL and top old firm players. I think the current squad is crap and has been for some time. Resembles an English championship side more than anything.

They'd have been better keeping Strachan in place if they didn't have somebody who looked as though he could improve on what was left, more or less ready to go.

What you are probably going to have now is........... 'Call Off Central', poor results, apathy and a growing campaign to get rid of Eck.

The football authorities in Scotland seem to be in a real hurry to win the World Numpties of the Year award in 2018.

Strachan's current employment status speaks volumes, but he's a better manager than Eck and did achieve some decent results in his time. Strachan is a very limited manager but at least not completely useless.

McLeish should never have got the job in the first place. Israel (94th in the world rankings) had over 30 shots at goal and McGregor saved us from a hiding tbh.

There is a decent bunch of young players there but they have given the job to the wrong man. To think there was talk of him coming back to Ibrox not long ago?

Think the squad is horrific, along with the manager and those running the game.

The worst part is there doesn't seem to be any sort of plan in place to rectify it. We've seen from the likes of Iceland and Belgium what a bit of creative thought can achieve.

So it's going to take blind luck for things to improve. McLeish being appointed sums up where the Scottish game is just now. Everyone is by this stage completely aware of how crap he is and we all knew he would fail: https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/alex-mcleish-scotland-truly-dreadful/

Will agree to disagree footballs all about opinions.

Think we will see Morelos hit higher heights than Everton in his career but time will tell

Indeed, time will tell. Morelos will need an extremely solid, consistent season though before teams in the EPL will properly take notice. Towards the end of last season he went months without a goal, playing in a really poor league. He also has only 3 league goals so far this season. Overall, he has 29 in 62 games playing in Scotland. I think a decent EPL side would want a much higher ratio than that.

We play in what I would describe as a 'derp' league. Big teams want to see players rattling a goal in pretty much every game because when they step up to a big league the ratio will be nowhere near that.

Calculate using a mixture of Dembele dollars and Tierney tokens and get a figure that is ridiculously high, double it, and leak it to the papers that Liverpool are lining up a bid at that level.

If we sell him for £5M, leak it to the press that it was £10M. That is what happens across the city and was proven in the Ki scenario. If you recall celtic released that they got an undisclosed fee, but leaked it to their compliant puppies that they got £5M. Two days later the buying club (Cardiff I think?) announed the signing of another player for a club record £4.5M, which kind of blew away the celtic claims they got £5M. Nothing said about that up here of course.

We have to learn to play this game.

Ki went to Swansea and was a good player for them. No idea what fee he went for but surely it would be in the accounts.

Did you have to mention Martin Bain? Just being reminded of that useless bastard has ruined an otherwise decent day.

If it’s any consolation, after taking Sunderland to successive relegations it might be a while before he’s heard from again.

That’s just mental. You know we will get done over by UEFA and sanctioned. Why do we do it? If that’s the attitude then don’t complain when we have a stand closed. I wish we wouldn’t sing it. It’s like poking yourself in the eye with a fork and doing it again because you like it???

Relax, I was three sheets to the wind. It's stupid that we're not allowed to sing it though. It's a great song.

No chance. If England is his destination, you are looking £10 million plus. That is spare change to most EPL teams

How many times in Scottish football history have players gone for 8 figure sums? It's not long ago everyone was saying he's pish! He has a good few games and he's  world beater, then some bad ones and  gets widely condemned.

I think we'd be doing well to get about £5m for him just now. Nobody is going to spend double that at this stage.

  9. Loved hearing the Billy Boys getting belted out on Thursday. Don't give a fuck if that upsets anyone!

We're the best support in the world. Nobody can hold a candle to us.

We were in the 4th tier of Scottish football and getting the highest attendance in British football one weekend? Lmao.....we're something else.

That's good to hear.  From what I've read, he comes from quite a hard up background, so I hope his family are enjoying his exploits and love attending matches at Ibrox.

For the record, I though the atmosphere vs Maribor was better than Thursday.  Although the eruption after our penalty was quite something.

Hes a wee gem. Works so hard and scores well. Must be a nightmare to play against.

Needs to argue less and score a few more.

    I love him.

His whole family sit in the main stand. There's a fair group of them! Bet they couldn't believe what the fuck they were seeing on Thursday. That atmosphere man, unreal.

All his cards have come from petulance so remove that blot and we have a great wee player, still as this is part of his nature removal may cause him to be less effective,so it is a "catch22" situation.

His recent performances must have defenders shaking in their boots, yes definitely a gem.

The last time we had a striker that could properly get in the noses of decent defences, and score too, was Daniel Cousin by my watch.

I remember him having a stormer of a game against the tims.

Edit - In fact, I am speaking complete shite. The last would be Jelavic.

Worth noting he didnt start in all of those 61 games. I make it 28 in 53 starts.

Better looking return. Not to be a negative nancy (although I fully admit I am), but he did have a really bad streak last season. We were completely pish though so I'll let him off.

    Tbh I love him too

I'm sure all the kids at Scottish primary schools with Barca merchandise agree.

I drop my kid off five days a week and have yet to see a QPR rucksack.

Does this not reinforce my point? Lots of money is being spent in England, often to little reward. The kids have no interest in QPR (or had) because they’re crap.

The big 2 in Spain spend large sums and it pays dividends. Lesser sides spend less and still outshine English teams in Europe.
