  1. 28 goals in 61 is OK but the ratio needs to improve. He also has a tendency to fluff big chances.

However, for the first time in a while, he's a striker we have that I have confidence in to make 'something' happen whenever he gets the ball in the final third.

I think many of our strikers in recent years would have bottled that third goal vs Vienna.

Overall, his career tally stands at 80 in 148, he's only not long turned 22 too! Definitely a good signing so far, but needs to nail down some consistency, score more in the league, and stop the petulance. He's definitely the type of player we need to be signing - low cost, young, potential high value. He's the type of player extremely well run, modern clubs like Dortmund regularly sign.

If he has a very good season this year (10 goals so far), chances are he may be off. The mark of a well run club is having 3 or 4 players already lined up to replace him should he leave.

The only League table that matters and is ever considered beyond the summer of when it ends,..... is the one at the end of the season.

I think it was Walter Smith that said the first time he generally thought the table to be meaningful was at the end of the second round of fixtures, after everyone had played everyon, H & A.

Regards this week / tomorrow. The end of the world depths post Livingston were quickly followed by fantastic to be back Thursday.

If the result doesn't go our way tomorrow it isn't the end of the world although it would be on social media.

It’s a funny situation because if we’re 11 points off the top in October that would normally be a doomsday scenario.. history dictates it’s how far we’re off the tims that’s what relevant. But history has also shown hearts don’t always fall away...

  3. Going off at a tangent here, but quite rightly this moronic act has had widespread condemnation. However, I’ve also read online some folk saying he shouldn’t be ‘grassed’. I’ve never understood this! Do people that don’t ‘grass’ have a limit to what they won’t report? Without being specific, surely there’s certain crimes every person would report?

The only thing I have ever reported to the police was a complete idiot who tailgated me on a dual carriageway to the point we were bumper to bumper. I was in the right lane and already going at high speed. Am I a ‘grass’? Perhaps my report might stop someone being killed!

We are exactly where he said we had to be as quickly as possible when he took over 3 years ago. He specifically mentioned initially being in the Europa league and here we are. Against all odds I might add given the view of the landscape from just 6 months ago.

And not just in it making up the numbers but unbeaten in 10 games and topping a group. You have to suspect he was a huge factor in hiring Gerrard. And would have taken the flak if it quickly turned into the disaster Pedro was so deserves the credit for the way it's panning out.

Coasting in Europe but stuttering away from home domestically though you would imagine that has to come right sooner or later. And let's see what it looks like once Gerrard has had another couple of windows. Give Hearts a hammering tomorrow and things will look even brighter.

I think you need to be a bit more balanced, mate. The last 2 seasons have been horrendous. Things are definitely looking up though.

  5. I’ll be honest, I never agreed with a single thing the guy said but he was an amusing board nemesis, particularly when he kept posting stats to defend Ally.

Definitely an educated guy though and a good debater, even if his arguments were rather bizarre.

The league position is misleading. Are Man Utd only the 10th best team in England? I think not.

At the moment they’re barely that! The league table doesn’t lie and if our away form improves so will our position.

Is our europa position misleading given we’re only 2 games in? No, we’re top and deservedly so.

  7. The king regime has been a real mixed bag so far. However, we’ve gone from being a complete basket case of a club to being top of a Europe League group containing a very decent La Liga side. Not only that, but Ibrox is a fortress now that no side would look forward to playing at. Plus we now actually attack in Europe, which I don’t think we have ever done since advocaat.

Even his most ardent haters have gone rather quiet now. That said, 3 points against hearts is an absolute must.

I hope it’s not a sign that the fat man is still at work behind the scenes somewhere?? I wouldn’t think so but you never know?

Haha I was just thinking that. Some dodgy website that you can’t find on google that takes weeks to deliver and with no order updates sent...feels just like the fat **** is involved!

The political aspect was an aside.

You should read 'Fear And Loathing In La Liga'.  Very good book which is an eye opener about those two clubs and their strangulation of Spanish football.

I always want Barcelona to lose unless they're playing Man Utd or Celtc.

I think you need to look closer to home to find the problems with world football. Barca and Real are where they belong - at the top of world football.

Frankie , apart from his Morelos nonsense , I can't disagree with much of what he said written , it's only an opinion , but I thought we were rank rotten in the first half , our first shot on goal was when we scored , that midfield 3 simply gives me the fear , it doesn't work , we play far to often Lat and don't get in betweenness position lines .

2 nd half was totally different  and the ending as I said earlier left me hoarse. , a proper Ibrox European night , but we need to improve in midfield , again any money we have for transfers in January need to go to a proper centre mid .

I agree that we were really poor in the first half. We finished the game extremely positively though and showed some character.

We were playing a pretty mediocre European side last night though.

Barcelona and Real Madrid may play nice football but everything else about both clubs is an abomination that has little to do with competition, fair play or football.

    Plus Barcelona are separatists.  ?

Based on their style of play I love Barca mate, regardless of the politics. I even like Roma too! The Rangers are the only team I support, and Chelsea too to a lesser extent. I don't let politics dictate the teams I like watching though. Since Guardiola took charge of Barca they have been a joy to behold.
