Still the only 3rd division player to be capped for Scotland. Dominated the 2012 Cup final when hearts beat Hibs 5-1. Rangers and Celtic were both linked with him that season. Never lived up to the hype after he signed, but then who did. Still surprised he ended up in the juniors though..

The moral of the story: being capped by Scotland and playing well for non old firm Scottish sides counts for very little. I don't think it's a coincidence that all these Scottish league players we signed then completely bombed.

It's not always about ability; I think you should sign the man first and the player second.  Obviously you sometimes take the chance on an exceptional talent (Gascoigne for example); Cummings is no where good enough to take a punt on.

    Another one what?

We are in agreement then. And regarding your question, you are not allowed to ever criticise anybody who has ever been associated with Rangers, no matter how obvious their misdeeds.

You would be surprised what people do? There is nothing entirely unusual about what happened. Young lads (and lassies) smash and throw things all the time in fits of rage.

    In your opinion. I disagree.

Let's assume this is Cummings in this video.  Are there still Bears out there that would have him at our club?

The only times he has ever performed are in the second tier in Scotland and the third in England. We need better than that.

Agree totally.  When he and McGregor left they were both at the peak of their careers. We had no right to expect Scotland players at their respective ages to perform at the lowest league level. Wallace was different, he still had his best years ahead of him.

Wallace was different in that he was nowhere near as good as them.

Johnny Russell is a better player.

Not based on tonight he wasn't. And if he's so good, why is he playing for Kansas City in his 20's?

Naismith is not as good as Morelos.

Naismith was miles better than Morelos in his last 2 seasons. He stood out in a Rangers team winning trophies, one infinitely better than what we have now. Morelos blows hot and cold in what has been over his time so far, a pretty damn poor team. Regardless, whether he's better than one particular player is irrelevant. The question is if he has value to add to our team, and I would say he certainly does. I would far rather have him involved than some loan player like Ryan Kent or Umar Sadiq, whom will leave us at the end of the season and probably never be seen on a TV screen again. And as per the OP, a Steven Naismith anything like his former self will always be 10 times the Kyle Laffertys of the world.

Maybe a better finisher, but you can’t judge players on internationals. We signed the likes of David Healy and Salenko based on scoring goals against minnows. Albania are probably punching above their weight being in division C in the nations league. Back in the good old days when there were only 32 countries in UEFA, Albania were always the worst team in Europe!

Not sure why internationals is relevant. Naismith has proven his quality with us already and also in the EPL. The only question is whether he still has a fraction of his old ability. It seems he's still a very decent player.

Based on what I have seen this season, Steven Naismith would walk into our team. We severely lack quality in the final third. We badly lack the movement, technique and intelligence he has.

And would our support accept him? We put up with Ian Black betting against us, we put up with Kenny Miller and we've put up with all sorts of heinous things over the years. If Naismith came back and scored a goal against the tims, 50000 people at Ibrox would be chanting his name.

You were dead set against us signing him last year. You are ded set against us signing players from spl clubs. You are dead set against us signing ex players.

Complete and utter lies. You even agreed with one of the these posts below. Do you have a terrible memory or are you just a liar?

Stuff like this makes our support just as bad as there’s. By all accounts, this area is extremely dangerous and fortunately action is being taken.

You would think our supporters would know more than most what can happen with overcrowding. And bringing up the child abuse stuff here has what relevance exactly?

Never had a rush of blood to the head, buster?

I'm not condoning their actions but when you lose it, safety (yours or anyone else's) isn't part of the thought process.

Oh come on, if tims had done this would you be talking about ‘rushes of blood to the head’? I think anyone capable of being so easily provoked and disbanding any interest in those around’s safety, clearly isn’t very bright.

Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to describe this result.

Belgium are filled to the brim with world beaters.

We need to be taking the Belgium, Iceland etc approach and overhauling our game. I’ve been saying this since I first registered on follow follow about 20 years ago so I should probably throw the towel in and accept our game will always be pish.

Regardless, Alex McLeish was the most pathetic appointment we could possibly have made. It’s acceptance of failure.

Our country is in a bad place right now as far as quality of talent goes. However, I hope this is the last time we see such a preponderance of a starting team containing so many Celtic/ex-celts players.
They may win in Scotland but they have shown themselves to be lacking in quality in Europe and at international level.
    Embarassing doesn't cut it Rab.

We have a bear in the dugout and he’s worse than they are.

The problems with Scottish football transcends mere individuals, but no nation will get anywhere without a half decent coach.

    I would disagree....

Coulibaly has been outstanding since he came in.

Ejaria had a slower start, but has been fantastic over the past 3-4 games.

Kent is raw, but is keen fast & direct and has been improving game to game.

Sadiq has been the biggest disappointment (so far)....limited game time & when he has played, hasn't really shown anything.

I'm talking about the last few years collectively. And I'd say Coulibaly has been the only clear success so far from the current lot

Looking long term, there should be much more a focus on developing our talent than other teams'.

  13. We've had really limited success from all these loanees. We should only be loaning players if they're much better than what we've got, or what we can buy, and often they aren't even good enough in the first place.

It plugs a gap and should be used sparingly. The exception to the rule is if we have an option to buy the player at the end of the loan. At least we might get some sort of long term gain out of it then.

I know why it was done, I just think it's a mistake to diminish the only thing that this league has to offer the wider football world, and reducing the opposing support to virtually nothing, diminishes it.  I wouldn't be surprised if in the not too distant future Sky will be informing the clubs the same. That's my opinion, I'm entitled to it as are you to yours, so don't be giving it the 'Oh dear'  shite.

You’re obviously completely correct. The old firm rivalry and atmosphere is about the only thing the Scottish game has going for it, and nullifying that is stupid.
