Good point.
That was such a long time ago. I think I had forgot about it.
More recently you could say John Greig/Dick Advocaat and perhaps also Gary Macc/Gerrard.

Or struggling to get his ideas across? There's clearly something not right, but like Gerrard's last season, nobody seems to be able to fix it.
I think the hits to confidence that we’ve taken from our UCL group games, coupled with the injury list, throw in some poor squad and contract management across recent transfer windows, and I think you’ve got a perfect storm where we are shit out of form, confidence and options.
A team lacking in form can look a million miles away from one that isn’t. Even if the relative underlying quality isn’t that different. A new manager could change us around quite quickly but I think we really could do with some new voices in the changing room.

At least if it’s Dyche, our press conferences will be entertaining again. They’ve mostly been dull as dishwater under Gio.

If the players really had downed tools for Gio, which I’m far from convinced about, it’ll be interesting to see if and how many of our long term injuries start clearing up in short order.

That remains to be seen.
Besides, you can plan the succession of every role, type it up, get it laminated and be very self-satisfied that it’s a good plan… only to find that your identified options are not available; or that if they are, that they don’t fancy it.

Doesn’t sound like there’s someone lined up then. Let’s hope that the void isn’t left for too long.

If we have a replacement already sorted then this might be a good move PR-wise given it’ll have been done without any rumours getting out.
Would allow the board to come out and change the narrative from what has been a gloomy couple of weeks.4 -

Rousseau told me he's basing it on masculine stature, rather than alphabetical order.
Such a brazenly provocative move. Bravo.

Are there any football clubs that would not recite an equivalent message?
Probably not. But it’s only one part of your brand. And ultimately it’s about how we live up to these statements that is what will define an organisation.

Is that what you believe defines Rangers?
Ive been thinking about this but it’s hard to pin down, though I think it could be one element of it.
It does attempt to establish some values, that’s not the whole brand. I think organisational culture, values and behaviours are related to this, and I’m similarly not sure if we could pin those down quickly.

Hasn’t the club already defined our brand in a way that captures the diversity of motivations within our support…

Just be good to have more options that we can rotate. All too often we are choosing 3-4 midfield/forwards that are shit out of form, hoping that one of them will click into gear. More pressure needs to be applied within the squad to keep your place in the team.

So much for John Bennett's much proclaimed intent to improve club communications.

As you know, r_s is the master of the slow play so that it takes time for his hand to be revealed, if ever.
I assume his position is that a demand being dumb doesn’t mean or indeed imply, that the person making the demand is dumb. It’s a reasonable inference to draw, however, entitling the reader to an explanation why he should not so infer.
Expect the explanation sometime on Friday morning - if ever.
A generous assessment of his motives and methods. I expect only continued trolling.

I tried but I really should have known better.

Well you said that each new request for engagement was dumber than the last...

Maybe.
I've wanted the club to engage with fans in the past.
Each new demand for engagement seems dumber than the last though.
I don't see any reason for the fans to be informed about anything other than fixtures and prices.
Why would fans asking for engagement be dumb?

There is no point in the board engaging with the fans.
Stupid complaints will persist no matter how much engagement there is.
Quite encouraging that the board is wasting as little time as necessary on stuff like that.
Are you against fan engagement in its entirety?
