    Serious point.

During August'23, Celtic relented their 'Separate Entity' stance and proclaimed they were looking to settle out of court with the victims of child sex abuse whilst members of Celtic Boys Club. Negotiations between the abused representatives(Solicitors) and the club's reps(Solicitors) have been on going since September. I believe a six month limitation was set on the negotiations? Thus, an offer of compensation must be made by the end of March'24 or, the case goes to court. There is an American aspect to this and we know their culture is most litigious.

I suspect either Craig or Bluedell could provide better insight?

Monies will have to be set aside.

More to the point, their auditors would likely raise a comment and/or qualify their accounts if appropriate provisions had not been made in relation to such a significant liability.  I haven't looked at the disclosures in their accounts to see what they are saying,  but its obvious why they are preserving cash.  Its also obvious why none of the blogosphere are commenting on this.

I did feel the original quoted cost was on the low side but it may be this fee is for the total package including any add-ons.

In any event this is a big money transfer that we simply must get right in terms of his contribution at Rangers and when we inevitably move him on - hopefully after his value has substantially increased.

To be fair to the board, many (including myself) were calling for them to  back the manager with some funds this window.  So even if the quoted numbers are the total value of the deal, I'm pleased to see this deal happening.  Crucial he lands and makes a quick impact

There's nothing in those rules that persuades me the authorities should have any say in how many Rangers fans should give up their opportunity to buy a seat to oppositions supporters.

They should only step in if there’s an unresolved dispute, which there is.  But we know how this will go… it’ll end up with whatever the other half of the old firm want to happen, and nothing less.

I can't see it's any business of the authorities. The authorities don't pay for our stadium or compensate our ST holders. By what measure is this anything to do with the authorities?

    SPFL Rules:

    Quote

I27 The Home club must make provision for the admission of such reasonable number of visiting supporters at every home League Match and Play-Off Match as may be agreed in advance with the Visiting Club and, in the event of their being unable to agree such number not later than 14 days prior to the date of the League Match or Play-Off Match in question, the number of visiting supporters allowed shall be determined by the Board whose decision shall be final and binding.

I think a.l this science is nonsense players now are running to the medical team with the least little twinge look at Roofe if he was in the workplace I’d have him up before the company doctor nothing but a malingering waste of a wage packet

There have always been players that seem to be unable to get out of bed without tweaking a hammy. eg. Darren "Sicknote" Anderton from the 90s.

But in any case, look at the number of playing careers that can continue post knee op.  We probably would have had wee Durranty back in the first team in 6 months if he had the Simpson tackle happened tomorrow.

  6. Hard not to agree with Sakala's view that he could at least have been allowed the chance to say goodbye and to train with the squad, even if he wasn't part of the manager's plans.   Its a harsh environment though, and freezing players out is probably more common than we realise, otherwise players might not be incentivised to direct their agents to get them a move and could well sit there running down their contract but with little chance of getting regular minutes.

It now appears like only one end will get done initially (no decision has been made but my guess is Copland).

A reconfiguration from original plans will mean the wheelchair spaces will be further back and slightly reduced in number. I imagine this will negate the potential seat loss slightly and can see both positive and negative aspects to this amendment from the wheelchair users perspective.

I believe the opposite end will be done the following season, though personally I'm becoming more sceptical when it comes to the proposed Govan Stand platform (that's a personal opinion not a statement of fact).

I think we can all understand that finances are tight but scepticism is understandable, especially given we have been told for 2 x AGM's in a row that this is being worked on and is a priority.
