  1. To be fair, hasn't it been well-known that we're interviewing them in London?
  2. H&H have already rubbished the move for Eustace.
  3. Philippe Clement 1/4 John Eustace 9/2 Kevin Muscat 5/1
  4. The point was made above that Clement doesn't get involved with recruitment much and prefers to just coach the players he has.
  5. Hoping for Mitchell. Getting the Monaco team back together.
  6. It does suggest we'll get a DoF. I see this (him being a coach) as a positive. I think that's what we've always needed. We don't have quality players that can manage themselves. We need a coach that can instruct and develop players.
  7. I made the votes public on this one. BSRT made the other poll and must have not clicked the option. I've now made them public on the other thread.
  8. Now that it looks like we're down to two, who is your preferred choice?
  9. I was just going to do that.
  10. Why? Bring in Skippy, too; and Dame Edna.
  11. That's what Man City use today, just with different position names; half-backs would be your #6s, inside forwards would be either #8s or outside forwards like Liverpool's Salah and Mane. Did that 4-2-4 come before the Hungarians? They're the first I know of to use it in the early '50s.
  12. Do you know Man City - and most other elite sides - play like this? It's a 3-2-5.
  13. He's should certainly be on the GTF list currently, but I think he should be on a watchlist to see how he develops over the years. By all accounts he did a good job at Birmingham.
  14. I'll just close the thread then...
  15. A 10 and shadow (second) striker are different positions.
  16. Well - we know what day it's not going to be announced.
  17. 10 - Maradona, Cruyff, Platini, Baggio, Riquelme, Ozil. (There's not many pure 10s left any more - simply because teams don't use them as much.) I'm not sure the old 3-2-5 formation played with a 10. Today the '2' would be two 6s; the '5' would be two wingers, two 8s (maybe two 10s, but they are more inverted wingers, like Salah and Mane, today), and a 9. Guardiola's Man City use the 3-2-5 in attack. With them it's the 8s that move forward into the forward line.
  18. 6 - DM. (Rodri, Makelele) 8 - box-to-box, a bit further forward than a #6. (Gerrard, Lampard, DeBruyne) 9 and 10 - You know what #9 and #10 are, surely? Some coaches actually go through the full 1-11.
  19. He was playing further forward before that. Raskin was one of two #8s with Lundstram as the single #6, which was why he got forward more.
  20. The missing piece of the puzzle that would take us to 55 under magic Warburton...
  21. It's a strange sacking. Eustace saved them from relegation last season and this season they are in the play-off positions. And now they want Rooney? Why? Their statement says: 'It is essential that the Board of Directors and the football management are fully aligned on the importance of implementing a winning mentality and a culture of ambition across the entire Football Club.' 'With this in mind, Birmingham City has today parted company with Head Coach, John Eustace.' Curious. This is like last year all over again: Seoane and Farke available — boom! Beale. Clement and Potter — boom! John f*cking Eustace. Hopefully I'm getting 5 from 2 + 2. Otherwise...
