I've not heard much, from what I recall. I think it would be an act of extreme negligence and incompetence if they didn't - even if it's not the type of appointment I'd want. Every elite side in world football has one. I'm getting worried...

To be honest, experienced, successful managers are out of our league for the most part. We really need to look for up-and-coming, talented coaches. And then - you're correct - you need the structure in place to make the most of that.

Agreed. I think they are a bit old-school in their thinking, in regards to managers, etc. I also don't think they were brave enough in the powers they gave to the DoF - and as a corollary, our DoF didn't have the skills that we need. Allen was the builder, which was necessary; Wilson was the operations man, which was perhaps not what we needed - not without without use or value. I think we now really need a recruitment specialist in our DoF.
