I really don't think the squad is the issue - it's the tactical approach; it's just brutal. Our squad depth next season looks like (strikethrough those that look surplus to requirements): Morelos Itten Kent - Hagi - Arfield Sakala - Aribo - Wright Jack - Sands Lundstram - Kamara Bassey - Helander - Souttar - Tavernier Barisic - Balogun - X - Zukowski McLaughlin McCrorie Yongsters: Lowry, Kelly, McPake, Mayo, King, Middleton I don't think that's all that bad. We're really lacking up front and on the right. Another CB is needed - especially with the injury record of Helander and Souttar! I feel like some youngsters could fill in, but we don't seem to trust them - or they're not thought good enough. Our best 'assets' are Kamara, Morelos, Aribo and Kent. Any of those could be sold to free up funds to re-invest. I have been saying for ages that Kamara and Morelos should have been sold long before now.

I can't argue with that. You're not wrong. Although-- which "wrong decisions" are you talking about? I don't think they get wrong decisions. Often the interpretation -- which is built into the rules -- is annoying, but it's not the wrong decision. Often the rules look to be problematic, which is an issue, but it's not the wrong decision. Maybe I am naive, but I think, at the very least it'll shine a light on decision-making. If they consistently make wrong decisions, then corruption comes into it. The main issue many have stems from the rules. It's not VAR per se, it's the rules that are shown to be problematic. In those instances the rules have to change.

Maybe those decisions that require a degree of interpretation, but those that require they get the lines out - I don't see how they can get that wrong. If they do get those wrong, then it would represent outright corruption and it would be quite obvious. Saying that, their incompetence may surprise me...

It's strange that, isn't it? When you think of Dutch football, it's free-flowing and attacking. We're more like Van Gaal's United, where they just keep passing the ball about for no reason. But, we can't even keep the ball.

I think it's the second qualifying round, which would mean 2nd, 3rd then the play-offs to navigate. Although, it does say (wikipedia) that the league winners go into the play-off round, which is not direct access to the CL group stages.

When I think about it, a lot of these players have looked worse under GvB. If we were to give this squad to a decent manager, they get a better response. Give the job to Bielsa and watch what happens. For GvB to be a success, it's going to take a complete rebuild, and I just don't agree with that approach. It's not sustainable. We can't do it every time a new manager comes in. I think the players are fine, but Wilson has to take the blame for appointing GvB. I would sack GvB. Not because he's a bad manager per se, but because he's not fitting in with our squad. He's not able to get a tune out of this team. He'd need a complete rebuild, which we cannot afford.

Mark Warburton might be available in the summer...

It's a huge kick in the knackers, but I'm more concerned about our inability to put something decent on the pitch. Remember: I think us starting again in division three was more of a head start than a potential £40M. It's not as if we can't get to the CL - we have to sort out ourselves first.

I don't like GvB as a manager. I don't think he's got it. I think, if you line up those two teams, removing form, we have the better players. A decent manager should be able to get a tune out of this team, but I don't see it with GvB. I don't think he knows what he wants, and I don't think he has the ability to put it across even if he does. I've pretty much said that since day one - or, after the honeymoon, at least. I'm bored watching us.
