  1. Middleton needs games. He's not going to get that here. Ojo gives us something different; he's a skilful, creative player that can play a part in the first-team. Seems logical, to me.
  2. Arfield plays further forward, so you've got 3 players for 5 positions. It'll be: Morelos Jones (?) - Arfield Kamara - Davis - Jack Aribo could replace, or at least provide competition for, Jones, Arfield, Kamara and/or Jack. He could play anywhere. We've got decent cover now. Striker: Morelos / Defoe / Hardie / Rudden LAM: Jones / Murphy / Grezda / Hastie RAM: Arfield / Stewart / Candeias LCM: Kamara / Aribo (?) CM / DM: Davis / McCrorie RCM: Jack / Docherty
  3. I do think the doubts around this signing have some validity (him being primarily a counter-attacking player), but I think that's mainly down to the way Killie played and therefore used him. However, I do think Jones has more about him than O'Halloran.
  4. Sarri has now been appointed Juventus manager.
  5. Probably more creative than anything else; maybe box-to-box too. According to Transfermarkt, he's played Left-midfield (6 times), Right-midfield (4), Central-midfield (18) and Attacking-midfield (10). He got 9 goals and 5 assists in 36 games.
  6. It's been confirmed that Sarri has left Chelsea. Is Lampard the answer? Too inexperienced, for me.
  7. Anderlecht finished 4th in the regular season and 6th in the championship round. Where did they get 3rd?
  8. I must admit, I find this a strange one. Juventus have built their success on tactically pragmatic managers over the last decade. Conte was a very pragmatic, reactive manager; and then Allegri, albeit more adventurous, is also pragmatic tactically, adapting to opponents and what he has available to him. Sarri is an idealist. He may have the quality available to him to implement his ideas, though. Juventus maybe want to transition into a more proactive tactical philosophy? It's certainly where the game's going.
  9. Finally! I can stop asking if he's signed! I think this is a good signing. It all depends on SG getting the best out of him. Stewart was a standout at Kilmarnock, yet floundered at Aberdeen.
  10. Decent move for the lad. Top end of League One. Should get a lot of game time.
  11. I see it more as inside forward-type position, more like Liverpool's front three. You wouldn't call Salah and Mane wingers, per se, or attacking midfielders, and they're not out-and-out strikers either.
  12. There are a couple of headlines stating Hastie will be loaned out next season -- alongside Middleton.
  13. He could play forward, but I assume he's lined up for a slightly deeper role. I don't see him as an attacking midfielder, though. He's more a second-striker, if anything. He slots nicely into one of the two positions behind our striker. He's not actually signed yet.
  14. I'd still want a 'marquee' #10. Alongside a couple of CBs, a LB, and a forward -- doesn't have to be a marquee striker, with Morelos and Defoe around, but just another option up front would be good; that would change if we lose Morelos.
  15. They're not marquee signings, but I'm pleased to get Jones and Stewart. (Has Stewart actually been confirmed?) They'll give the squad something different; added depth, a bit of creativity, and a goal-threat, especially from distance. To get, arguably, two of the best players -- at least best performers -- in the league for nothing, is great business.
  16. He was mentioned above. I think they're all just rumours at this stage.
  17. I have never seen anything more serious in my life. Voted.
  18. I'd say Kalas is a marque signing. Good player. However, we've not signed anyone yet, and we still need to flesh out the squad. We're light in defence--even more so after the loans have left.
  19. I'm sure @buster. will be keeping a keen eye on the action...
