  1. I prefer a more mobile forward that can run in-behind. I like the look of Roofe, and also maybe Shankland, or Dykes. I hope Kamberi is still coming in, too.
  2. He's not a number 10. He's perhaps not an out and out striker, but he's most certainly a forward that drifts. There is certainly an argument to be made for that out and out striker, but I'm of the opinion that having a more mobile forward would be better. Saying that, I still think we need to bring in more than one forward; an out and out striker would be top of the list.
  3. I suppose I wouldn't call him a goalscorer -- and, you're right, he does have a wingers game, in a way. His work-rate, movement off the ball, and on the ball is superb. (I'm obviously going on what I saw from Leeds Utd last season.) I get the feeling SG wants a narrow front three, where they all chip in with goals -- where we're not necessarily relying on one man to get 25+. I think in a narrow front three, Roofe offers the movement and versatility. He can score a decent amount of goals. His record in Belgium is pretty good, so I presume he'd be more than able to cope with our league. I'm not saying he's the missing piece, but he'd be a very good addition; strengthening the first-team.
  4. Clearly didn't participate in the definitive Gersnet poll on the use of 'Glasgow' in our name.
  5. Kemar Roofe would be an excellent signing. I don't trust that source at all, though. Saying that, his wiki page has him currently playing for "the famous Glasgow Rangers", so it must be close.
  6. It's definitely been done before. There is now a lot riding on the clubs agreeing a fee.
  7. Interesting. I wonder if that's part of the reason why he's looked a little off? I would hope for a good fee -- and a good sell-on fee -- and hopefully we can get a couple of decent forwards in.
  8. Good opposition to play: simply because they played with everyone behind the ball, which we'll see a lot of. Unfortunately, we didn't look like we've developed in how we break that system down.
  9. Was that Barjonas that makes that long pass out wide to Patterson there? Lovely pass. Great desire from Patterson too to make that run.
  10. This is a very Liverpool front three; roaming forwards, no striker. The difference is our guys are waiting for the ball coming to them.
  11. We should have scored a few more since the restart, with some nice interplay at the edge of the box.
  12. I think the reason Morelos is looking a little distracted is from Kent's abomination of a 'haircut'. What are those things?
  13. Seeing Arfield come on is deflating. Good servant, but he's not the most creative. I feel more excitement at Barker coming on, which is just wrong.
  14. Oh-- sitter from Morelos. He's lacking a little something.
  15. Even that goal was very slow in the build-up. It was just clinical. We need to up the tempo.
  16. That's a beautiful goal. One-two between Aribo and Morelos, with the former slotting it in.
  17. We're in desperate need of more attacking options.
  18. It was only for certain games, when Helander or Katic suited the opposition.
  19. My first thought was, I'd rather see Mayo get game-time here. However, he'll still not get game-time if he's the back-up. First-choice will be Goldson and Edmundson. How often do you rotate CBs? It's better if Mayo/McCrorie go out on loan.
  20. McLaughlin looks a very good shot-stopper. That point-blank save in the second half was outstanding. He's atrocious with his feet, though! (Even Sunderland fans were saying similar - and you wouldn't expect them to be playing out from the back.) Very good deputy, though; very pleased with that signing.
  21. What are you talking about!? We're gonna win the Europa League!
  22. I've noticed a couple of differences in the way we're playing. I think it's more of a narrow front three, a la Liverpool, rather than the noticeable 2 in behind Morelos. They're all quite fluid too, which is nice to see. I think the wide midfielders (Kamara, Aribo) are overlapping, which I don't think we saw last season. Is Tavernier sitting deeper? Barasic is high and wide, but Tavernier not so much. Structural change, to defend against the counter? One full back goes, the other stays back, maybe?
  23. Oh, stop it, Joe! That's absolute filth. 3-0, Aribo.
