Kent broke well and it opened up for us, but he makes the wrong pass.

A few of our players have slipped already, from the wet conditions.

McPhee is a progressive coach, so I'm not surprised to see a more possession based, mobile side. I wonder if they have the players for it, though? It could catch us out, or suit us.

I'm intrigued by this. It looks to me like he has very little chance of breaking into the first-team, but it seems the club, and Gerrard, regard him highly. It says that he's only just been added to the first team squad, which surprised me, as it feels like he's been around for ages. Saying that, he's still only 20.

A fair few half-chances for us thus far: Defoe mistimes a header, Aribo fires wide, Helander heads over, Stewart fires one across goal, and Davis almost played in by Tavernier, but the pass is too hard.

We've made a good start. Aribo is started well. He's playing further forward. Davis pulling the strings, and Kent pushing them back.

Aribo and Arfield I agree with, but I think Stewart has done OK, although it's not came off for him.

[HT] 1-1. I don't think we've played badly at all. They scored a lucky goal out of nothing, and, OK, we were a little sloppy in defending it too. The tempo has been good for large spells, but we've not really created a clear-cut chance; all half-chances. And, we missed a penalty. They're are a good side; difficult to play against. The frustration has come from the piss poor Ref, and their time-wasting tactics.

I'm not sure Helander is suiting these long balls. If it's close enough to header, then he's fine, but anything where he has to run he's struggling.
