  1. Flanagan comes on for Halliday -- a wee knock, maybe?
  2. Scrappy again. I'd like to see Grezda come on to freshen up the wide areas.
  3. Lovely run from Arfield in the channel, slipped in by Tavernier in space; his cut back finds Middleton, but the shot is blocked.
  4. Straight swap: Lafferty replaced by Morelos. You know, in comparison to Morelos, Lafferty is really limited, but he is half-decent at what he's good at (willing runner, can hold it up, good in the air etc.).
  5. Grezda is warming up. And, they think Morelos is about to come on.
  6. Livingston have had a couple of corners and long throw-ins, well delivered, but we've dealt with them really comfortably.
  7. Arfield slips through Lafferty who has to fight to reach the ball first, but is clattered. The ball almost breaks to Arfield, but he's clattered too as it rolls into the 'keeper's gloves. Neither were fouls.
  8. Another quick passing move sees the ball find it's way to Middleton wide; he stands up his man, goes on the outside and shoots towards the far post; shot is well saved.
  9. Flying elbow sees Halliday go down to receive treatment.
  10. In-swinging free-kick, deep on the left from Middleton finds Lafferty but his first-time shot is miscontrolled over the bar.
  11. Scrappy start; neither side able to hold the ball, so it's a bit end-to-end with no quality at all.
  12. Good quick break saw Jack burst forward, slipping through Candeias out wide. He stands up his man, centres a ball to Arfield who's shot is blocked. Another quick, breaking move that results in a chance. Mostly half-chances, but chances nonetheless. Our play deserves a few more goals, I think. Half-time whistle goes. Rangers 1 - 0 Livingston.
  13. Good one-two with Tavernier and Candeias; Candeias crosses it to the back post, but the 'keeper gets a touch and it deflects off Middleton and out. Good run from Lafferty too, going past a couple before being fouled and the ball goes wide to Candeias, who whips in another good cross. Our crossing has been good; it seems to be the main tactic today, with Lafferty up front. There were a couple of long-range shots from Lafferty and Halliday that failed to trouble the 'keeper.
  14. A yellow-carded Livvy player just about took Goldson's head off with a high boot. Of course, there's no card...
  15. We're giving away soft fouls and free-kicks in dangerous areas; it's what they want. Perhaps why we have McAuley and Laffery in today, to help deal with the aerial threat.
  16. Middleton, Ejaria nor Jack are making themselves available to Halliday for a pass, so he's left with very few options other than going back. Ploy from Livvy, perhaps?
  17. 1-0 to Rangers! Wonderful, whipped delivery from Middleton's corner, Candeias dukes away from the 'keeper and glances it into the empty net! I want a dooing.
  18. @Tannochsidebear was almost spot on with his suggestions.
  19. Surprised Grezda isn't starting, but I suppose he had internationals this past week. This game might suit Lafferty, actually.
  20. MORELOS IS ON THE BENCH!! *everyone scrambles to change their GPL FGS*
  21. If we can swap Solanke for Sadiq, we'd improve our options dramatically. I'm not convinced Solanke is that great from what I've seen -- although, he is 'playing' at a level where you'd assume he would be fairly comfortable in our League -- but Sadiq is a waste of a jersey.
  22. I watched it too. I think we see any Davis signing as one that would fulfil our #10 issue, but he was actually playing DM last night, as he does for Southampton; that's his position now, because he doesn't have the legs. Do we need another DM?
  23. We disagree on the Colt teams point. I only really care about Rangers; this benefits us. It could benefit all teams anyway by bringing through better youngsters. When you think of the countries that produce the best players, Spain and Germany; both of these have B-teams in the senior leagues. It's weighted against them, but former Highland League teams (Elgin City, Inverness, Peterhead and Ross County) do pretty well compared to the rest of the League.
