match thread (image) [FT] Celtic 2 - 1 Rangers (Kent 63)

I think that's a solid team. It'll be a counter-attacking game for us today. I hope our forwards are ready to take their chances. -

Sorry -- I should have cobbled together a match thread, but I suppose this will suffice. The Sky Sports Preview focuses on Lennon, so we'll give that a miss... -
The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
Rousseau replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
It's a rumour; no one knows for sure, @RANGERRAB. I agree CB will be needing strengthened, but I still think we need options up front too (that's Forwards and Wingers). -
I saw a rumour of Lewis Holtby (#10), who's leaving Hamburg at the end of the season. He's German, but with an English mother or father, I think? He's the type of player I'd like. I don't think there's anything in it, though.

Seeing it again, it wasn't actually Barasic marking the guy, so not his fault.
-
He smashed his goal in from 2 yards when it was loose. If he was playing LB--which I believe is true--I think he was responsible for their first goal; his man should not be scoring from there. 'Keeper probably takes some of the blame too. Still, it's nice to see a Rangers player playing at that level.

The tactics have evolved but the positions you're talking about are still around--they just have different names. Man City line up in the WM formation, first developed in the 30s! I think a half-back is a 6? Inside forward is more of an 8, or actually still just an inside forward (Or, they are maybe further forward a wee touch)?

Three Semi-finals on the bounce, I think (?), and they ran away with the League / Cup every season. I agree it is looking like Messi was the difference. I don't see that changing this season. They'll lose -- hopefully! -- in the Semi-finals.
-
I saw that graph yesterday -- I didn't notice we were on it (twice!). I think Guardiola is a superior coach to any other. There's no doubt money has helped -- and it looks like his CL wins have been down to Messi -- but I don't think it's the main reason.

No way we had 39% possession. They were camped out on their 18-yard-box. -

Yes--that's my post. It's funny how players go from being world-class when they're out, to being sh*te when they play. I think Katic has a good future. -

Touche. If he had shot and missed, or had it saved, would we be moaning at him for not squaring it? -

Best move of the match. -
It is currently: HT Swansea City 2 - 0 Man City. (Barrie McKay on the bench--could we get him back?)

I'd have to see it again, but I don't think Katic was the main man at fault--although, he's not blameless. -

They've all been injured. Middleton should get more minutes, but he's hardly set the heather alight. -

Ach--we'll beat Celtic next week... then lose to Hearts. -

We're short on attacking options. We need additions in the summer--Marquee signings SG said. -

Why? It's a yellow. He just takes him out; he's not the last man. How many times have teams done that to us? -

I thought Davis was terrific! Okay--he drifted out of the game for spells, but I thought he was at the heart of our best chances. McGregor gifted them the goal, but there was a series of brain-farts before it. Saying that, if he stays on his line Katic puts the guy under pressure and gives him a more difficult chance. McGregor coming out gifts him the goal. -

FT, 1-1. We huffed and puffed -- I can't fault the effort -- but the quality is lacking; our confidence is so low too. I thought Davis was fantastic. Grezda looks to be a good option, if we can get him back fit. It was just one moment of complacent stupidity. It happens far too often. -

I've been pleased with Grezda's effort. He's not even fit. -

Good counter. I don't know how we didn't score there? -

That was an absolutely wonderful move. Interplay between Tavernier, Davis, Morelos, plays through Davis who squares it for a tap-in, but there's no one there!?
