  1. That's your opinion...
  2. All about opinions.
  3. Much of this is true but how can GVB rebuild in the summer of most of this team are beyond their sellby date? We'll have to sell players to generate cash, unless we win the league. Sell Alfie without a replacement already in place simply can't happen as he brings so much to the team. Aribo will get us cash if he continues to play as he has but will leave a gaping hole quality wise. Kamara will be sought after and whilst I really like him, he's maybe the player we can sell without a huge impact to the starting 11. We could be looking at entire starting 11 in the summer. Their secret has been to have players in place and settled before selling so there is little or no impact then build on those foundations. The only time they didn't, we zoomed past them - they've learned their lesson, we clearly haven't. Whilst some of the signings in December were exciting, 3 were on loan (1 Long term). Hardly long-termism. I like GVB I want him to do well, but I want Rangers to be successful and have a long-term plan which I'm falling to see or if it's there, grasp.
  4. It could be argued they had a better team / players in August than they did last night. We had Kent playing clearly injured, McCorrie in goal, Balogun at right back but found ways to nullify them and win the game (from a set-piece).
  5. I don't get this forget about last season nonsense. If we continued to apply all the good attributes from last season, we'd have won the league again. Not by 20+ points, but we'd have won it. Celtic came to Ibrox earlier in the season riding a wave of optimism and new found belief, we were told they'd destroy us, even some in here were predicting new untold levels of defeat. Then to make matters worse, we got ravaged by Covid. The predictions were for an easy Celtic victory, a return to the days of Murty and Pedro. The reality? We found a way to nullify them and to win the game. Some of us cheered the day SG left, but we are now feeling the effect of losing coaches like Beale and especially Culshaw. In countless interviews SG and the players would was lyrically regarding his input for defending and attacking set-pieces. We didn't lose goals from set-pieces, and we scored many from attacking set-pieces. Now it's reversed. GVB is a decent coach, his time in Holland showed this but his style (whatever it is) is eirher not suited for Scottish Football, or it's getting lost in translation somewhere. Watching the game last night our every weakness was identified and exploited. Gone was the Rangers who firstly found a way to beat Celtic regularly then found a way to destroy and embarrass them. Now this is reversed. Their players look hungry, fit, agile, well coached, know their positions and know their jobs. Our players are the exact opposite. Some thing else that has been reversed. The next two games are critical for GVB and Rangers. Any more dropped points and the league and possibly GVBs tenure will be hanging by a thread.
  6. We could do with a few more players with the spirit and attitude of young Mr Bassey.
  7. We have no other forward who offers what he does. Roofe maybe a better finisher, Sakala might have the pace, Itten is raw and untested. Alfie is Alfie and probably the most important player in our team
  8. So who starts on Sunday? McGregor Tav or new guy? Goldson Balogan Bassey Ramsey Jack Aribo Amad or Kent or Wright? Alfie Fashion or Kent?
  9. But we are stuck with what we have until the summer. Our defence is the major worry and that's was what our league title was built on last season. Need to change things up a little but don't think the management team will, they'll stick to their style which looks very unsuited to Scottish football (or we don't have the players to implement what they are trying to achieve)
  10. Yup, a rest for Tav needed same with Borna.
  11. Worryingly the last few away performances were also very bad - he is running out of runway. We've struggled (eirher full games, or parts of games) since he arrived. Sunday is going to be interesting especially if we struggle to break Hearts (who are a decent team) down, or God Forbid go behind.
  12. Not much to argue with there. Only thing for me is I thought Kamara was our best outfield player 1st half (not great but best out a bad bunch). You can see why SG played his wide players "narrow" as his full backs were so far forward. He also used this as a high press which worked. Teams then got wise to this and worked out how to defend and SG didn't adapt. However a very honest summery
  13. Unfair to single him out, we are judging level of woefulness this evening.
  14. The performance was just so galling mate. We had finally gotten to grips with them after taking trouncing after trouncing and we have to suffer that performance. Add that to the draws at Aberdeen and Ross County, it's obvious the momentum has turned in their favour. However, as you say the momentum can just as easily turn back in our favour and if it does, we need to be ready to grab it wirh both hands and run with it.
  15. Mate, we played that at Ibrox with a Covid ravaged team, Balogun at right back and McCorrie in goals. They were touted as the best thing sliced bread and we found a way to win. We never looked like winning tonight, didn't even look like we should be on same pitch as them in that 1st half.
  16. Say what you want about SG and his team's, but they never capitulated like that against them (mostly same players). We had bottle, balls and a get right at them attitude and had a decent record against then.
  17. Another worrying point, their signing from MK Dons looked a far better player than most of our team. MK feckin Dons.....
  18. I turned off at half-time mate so didn't see any of it but at the moment I'm hard pushed to take any positives from this evening We got spanked this evening - they looked so much better than us. They had a game plan and executed it to perfection. We looked like little lost boys in comparison. Long way back and they play before us at weekend so have a chance to move further ahead. I'm concerned going into our game v Hearts in I'm honest.
  19. Was GVBs first visit to Parkhead as a player in a 5-1 defeat under DA? Some record that!!!! Saying that we won the treble that season 🙂
  20. Thankfully they appear to have declared on 3 - only positive from this evening
  21. First flight back to Turin in the morning! Saying that he used to play for Arsenal so be used to spectacular failure 😱
  22. And looking far more energetic than anyone in our team.
  23. To late for that. When was last time we lost 3 goals in consecutive games? For some reason we have regressed dramatically from last season and more worryingly from the start of this season (when we weren't setting the heather on fire, but we were winning and leading the league). On the other hand, they look like they have the belief and will rompt away from us if we continue to regress. We are getting worse every game with little evidence that we're gonna turn it around. Worst OF performance since the good old days of Murty and PC...
  24. So much for getting a bounce on the back of the AR signing and "decent" transfer window.... I said earlier in the week (or at the weekend - can't remember exactly) but there is something not right at our club. I don't know what it is, but something stinks.
  25. Yup, but 1 of 11 who were woeful in 1st half......
