  1. I just want to bring into the discussion. Has playing with 5 defenders really helped us cement the back and give us a platform to build from the back. Aberdeen scored with a free-kick from distance but have had in 2 games hardly had a chance shot on goal. Has Ross McCrorie brought out the best of Ryan Jack in that he is now playing further forward and has been relieved of a lot of his defensive duties. What do we do when Dorrans come s back? Will that be to the cost of Holt or Pena?
  2. Surprise surprise a journo taking a Rangers players side. To be honest Andy Walker also said it wasn't red.
  3. 6 second keeper rule not being followed gets on my chest. sometimes they have it nearer 20 seconds.
  4. Ouch! I will admit I didn't know that either, I guess that rule has changed recently then. It was for a while they used to jump forward to narrow the angle.
  5. What is football it is all about guessing anticipation and taking chances. A striker guesses and takes a chance when running to the front or back post. Guessing gives a keeper mostly a 50% chance he is right. Sometimes 33% if you take going down the middle. When you take it that penalty takers habits are well studied before the time then those odds could be vastly improved. Did you see the Liverpool free-kick yesterday? They had studied that the wall always jumped so they took a chance and hit a daisy cutter and the wall jumped nicely over the ball leaving the keeper stranded. Anyway I will leave it at that because I guess you won't give in until you say we will have to agree to disagree.
  6. When you are in goals you stand still. I will still try to steal an advantage. I hope Foderingham does the same.
  7. Yes almost every keeper breaks the rules at a penalty. Referee's hardly ever blow for it unless it is really blatent. So Gotcha yourself. A keeper could never get to a ball in the corner if he waits to the ball is kicked. Unless it is a tricke shot.
  8. Great to see a bit of fight in the middle of the park again today. Brings back memories of old:)
  9. Seems to be a bit of team spirit that was missing before.
  10. Sorry Craig you are totally wrong. If a keeper does not anticipate things and move early he will never save much. How many penalties would be saved in the corner if the keeper stands until the ball is kicked. The keeper has far more time if the ball is put to the back-post and the ball has to cross his path. From where that kick was taken the chances of scoring in the back post postage stamp beating the keeper are low and would need to be millimetre perfect. I am not saying it can't happen but 99% of free kicks from that angle take the shortest route to goal.
  11. Murty has never managed a team so we have no idea what level he is at. For what it is worth I read the delay was that McInnes wants to bring his back-room staff and Rangers don't want them. If that is true then maybe they want Murty and JJ to stay as his assistants. I only read that it could be bullshit.
  12. Craig the day you agree with me I will start to worry about you. The chances of him scoring in the far corner are virtually nil as I said so not many free kicks will be aimed there. With that knowledge you can have a good idea where the ball will be going and make a move during the run-up. Foderingham even had the insight that he done the exact same thing last season.
  13. I must admit Rangers had an extra man for 65 minutes as Kenny McLean was playing for us. Wasn't he? I will also put my tin hat on. I think Jacks tackle was a red card. I don't think he needed to put his foot there I think he knew what he was doing and it was endangering a player. If I put the shoe on the other foot I would be crying for a red card so I have to be honest.
  14. If it is McInnes then I will get behind him but when he spouts pish like Aberdeen were the better team in the first-half and Rangers were only dangerous at set plays then I seriously doubt his vision of the game. Rangers scored a goal from open play and if I remember right Lewis had about 3 wonder saves from open play
  15. Commons is an arsehole!
  16. I think the keeper should be nearer the corner with a ball like that. The chance that it will be put in the other top corner is virtually nil and even if it is put there the ball has a far greater distance to travel and so you will have far more time to get across. Foderinhams placement is not good and he gives himself too much to do. I actually ask if you want such a big wall when the kick is so far out. I think I would have 2 men as I would rather see the ball.
  17. Watch Pena, he chases down but never tackles. He is playing quite good though.
  18. Aberdeen 0 - 3 Rangers Miller 79′ 81′Dodoo 83′ Bookings Jack 4′Taylor 24′Shinnie 33′ Garner 4′Holt 53′ Wes Foderingham James Tavernier David Bates Danny Wilson Beerman, Jason Holt Kenny Miller A lot of the team that won 3-0 last season so have faith in young David
  19. I read on another forum it is Bates that is playing. Is Cardoso injured? I am nog sure whether it was someone in the know though or a guess.

    Go Gordon

Not putting Rangers to blame but we have built a total new stadium. Why was this not taken into account back then? I am not pointing this question at you Gonzo just in general.

    Go Gordon

Totally agree with this and after being with FS for a day this is not just at football stadiums but in our everyday life. It certainly opened my eyes to the problem. Entry to buses, trains and Restaurants and pubs where the toilets are up a flight of stairs. Any building planning permission should now take wheel chair use into account.
  22. I won't disagree with that totally but transfers for more money have always taken place.
  23. He did try to play the high press at times but I think he saw pretty quick he did not have the players for it and we ended up caught in no man's land with a chaotic sometimes well sometimes not system . I also ask about our fitness as we could only play 45 minutes. Warburton played far more the high press and ball retention but he never had players with a cutting edge. I think it a shame Warbuton never improved the team as I much preferred his system. Rogers has Celtic playing that way with better players. The question with that one is did Warburton not want to buy players or did King turn off his money tap?
  24. I agree the money is stupid and possibly unsustainable. The bubble will burst one day just like the banks. I disagree that players today try less or care less than the old days. I would even say they are far more athletes now than they were back then.
  25. I still love the old John Greig V-neck. I don't like the 92-94. I don't like the big white shoulders. I would also love us to go back to the sky blue and white striped reserve tops or an orange strip.(Nothing to do with orange religion wise)
