All eyes on the Directors' Box, chaps....

I think that you are probably correct. It would be interesting to know, in these "special" betting markets, just how much (little, more likely) money it takes to move a runner up a point or two, One thing seems clear, the press is guessing, as are other media, all of which is amusing.

Billy Hill has Alexander Francis Neil now @7/4, shortening slightly. Eck remains @3s, while Pero Caixinha slips out to 4/1.

it's a bit left field. Seems to have graduated from Largs, which is only Scottish connection (if such it is). Unless he wants out of the Middle East (or has been told to find a new club), and his agent, whose name we don't know, has thrown his cv into a/any passing hat (magic or otherwise), it's difficult to fathom. Here is The Rough Guide to Caixinha: So who exactly is Pedro Caixinha? Here is a handy guide about the potential new Rangers manager... 1) Caixinha hails from Portugal and is 46-years-old. He began his career as a goalkeeper but retired at 23 and took up coaching, becoming Sporting Lisbon assistant in 2004. 2) He has held assistant posts in Greece, Saudi Arabia and Romania, and became a manager in his own right in 2010 with Uniao Leiria in his native Portugal. 3) Caixinha's biggest achievement was managing Mexican side Santos Laguna to two league titles in 2014 and 2015. 4) He took his coaching badges in Glasgow in 2011, sitting a module in the same class as ex-Rangers assistant David Weir, before attending a seminar held by Sir Alex Ferguson. (Presumably Largs.) 5) Caixinha is currently in charge of Qatari side Al Gharafa, a position he has held since late 2015. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/03/01/five-facts-about-rangers-managerial-contender-pedro-caixinha/

Billy Hill's book for "Permanent" Rangers' Manager has Alex Neil shortening even more: now @2/1, level pegging, it must be said with Pedro Caixinha. Big Eck is @3s. (Ffs!! Did we not do our porridge a few years ago?)

It does seem that noboby, nobody, outwith the Inner Sanctum, has the remotest idea, and that traps, for once, have been shut, and apparently remain shut. Quite cheering, really.

6/4 with Billy Hill's online. next are Big Eck & the Portuguese chap, both @3/1. Surprising.

i would be happy with Sean Dyche, but the financially, I suspect , undoable.

We use to call it jokery popery. -
Not, I believe, a Rangers man.....plus he might be expensive to prise away from Norwich City and the clutches of RC convert, and thus zealot, Delia Smith.

Disgraceful, disgusting, depraved. This comment is not one that I would be prepared to let my wife or servants read. (No wonder you were shown the door at Elbow Beach. Rangers songs? The Good Ship Venus, more likely.)

Don't know what Profumo saw in her......

Jesus H Christ! Your glass is half empty, and the bar is shut. Your analysis is, of course, correct. Take the last train to Dudsville, And I'll meet you at the station, Can you be there by 4.30 For you'll need une grande libation?........................

Recent history of the company/Companies and "Rangers". I don't know what level of disclosure would be required, but in the particular circumstances, I don't think that off the shelf cover would, as a matter of course, be offered. If I was advising an underwriter, say, I would look at such a proposal very carefully, or I might be sued myself. The only way to come to a conclusion is, really, for someone to make an enquiry.

I think that with Non-Exec Directors' insurances, much would depend on the level and amount of disclosure they would have to make. For instance, quite why they are insuring themselves individually, and not via a Company policy. Non disclosure could -would- nullify the insurance; it could even be seen as fraudulent. The Board members seem, from what I understand, to be self insured. That seems like quite a risk, as we are told they are at daggers' drawn, over such matters (I paraphrase from recent discussions, revelatory, and otherwise, on these pages) as lies, obfuscations, and unprofessional conduct. I don 't think anyone can expect a Non Exec to self-insure.

BBC Scotland's Sportsound (Ah ken, Ah ken) has Ross Wilson with 1st refusal of the DoF post.

Well, the lyric is "Half a pound for", and not, as I thought, "Half an hour with". Memory shot, obviously.
-
Good man! Nearly right! Half an hour with Mandy Rice, half an hour with Keeler...... I don't remember if there were any more lines.
-
It was Mandy Rice-Davies who said it, under questioning in the Old Bailey. Can you remember Hamish Imlach's song about the girls?

Pardew likes a punt, then. I seem to recall rumour of a casino connection - Gessler- Lambias-Pardew....... Lambias was a casino employee, pit boss, manager, whatever, in an establishment used by Fatso and Pardew...... Another reason, if true, to say, "Thanks, but no thanks".
-
i thought Pardew was a pal of The Fat Git (to the extent that he has friendships), and that that was a major reason that he got the Newcastle gig. Am I wrong, or has the relationship cooled, following his departure from Tyneside? I should wish no one with any connection whatsoever to that nasty, exploitative bastard anywhere near Ibrox.

Thornton, of course, when challenged by the dressing room to "Show us your medals" could produce his Military Medal (the 'other ranks' Military Cross) won in WW2. That would enhance, for that generation of players, any natural authority he had. I can see only that he managed the side for 2 games, winning both. A great man, nonetheless.
