Lets face it Lennon signed some sheidt or the board have - i'm calling you out Murphy( an utter coo) Killen is better ,Ledley and such player as Cha imposters and added to the fact managerial novice and inability to mould a team with a board who want a yes man. cdmcc 16 minutes ago Post #44 Member Avatar I don't believe you...you're a liar! The easy ball on the counter is killing us. How Lennon hasn't adapted to this is baffling. Ledley and Juarez - the two big signings have been as useful as a cock flavoured lollipop. Spent peanuts on the defence. We need to go 4-5-1 for a bit and just keep the ball for 80 minutes. CHR15 16 minutes ago Post #51 Member Avatar HMRC pumps the Huns....Ooh Yeah! There was a moment there when Ki was claiming for handball at the edge of the box and didn't get it and Killie were racing forward where I had a flashback to last season at home against Hibs about this time of year and Hibs scored to beat us. Thankfully that didn't happen tonight. 5 points behind if the Huns win there games in hand, which i don't think they'll take full points from but if we get beat at Ibrox which I think we will (we'll certainly not win) then we're gona be in trouble. We are fragile at the back, totally disorganised in the middle of the park (which presumably will get worse now Browns back) and completely blunt in attack. Lennon should walk, but I guess we will limp along until the huns put us out of our misery at Ibrox. Mr Fixit 20 minutes ago Post #82 Club Captain [ * * * * * * * * * ] Posts: 3,558 Group: Snr. We lack something in creating chances as they're few and far between and when we do we don't take them Murphy I'm looking at you for that one tonight. Compare other teams, Killie there one chance one goal. We've dropped 9 points at home already this season, that is shocking. All this pish in the transfer window about signing Ireland Keane, the only Irishman who should be getting money off of us is MON. We have to act now and unfortunately I don't think is Lennon is up to it and it pains me to say that. We have to win this league and with the current set up and players this isn't going to happen. 18. CELTIC have joined the race for Kris Commons and will make their bid to land the Scotland star when the transfer window opens next week. Neil Lennon's interest has been accelerated by the long-term injury absence of Shaun Maloney and Record Sport understands he's ready to offer the Derby wideman the Ã?£16,000 a week Commons is demanding to move from the Championship side. Commons, whose deal expires in the summer, was linked with Rangers last month but the Ibrox side have ruled out a switch due to continued cash restraints ââ?¬â?? leaving the path open for their Old Firm rivals. Derby gaffer Nigel Clough has failed to tie his top scorer to a new contract and admitted he could leave next month. Hoops boss Lennon is a huge admirer of the seven-cap international whom he played alongside for a short spell at Nottingham Forest in 2007. Commonsââ?¬â?¢ ability to fill the left-sided attacking slot vacated by Maloney, and provide a goal threat that has seen him score 12 times this season, has made him one of Celticââ?¬â?¢s priority targets. However, they will need to beat off competition from several English clubs. Clough said: ââ?¬Å?We are still talking to Kris and will do everything we can to make him stay. But he is within his rights to say, ââ?¬Ë?I am going to wait to see what is on offer in January or in the summerââ?¬â?¢.ââ?¬Â
  19. FORMER Rangers star Avi Cohen is fighting for his life in hospital after being seriously injured in a motorbike crash. The ex-Israel defender, 54, underwent emergency surgery after a collision with a car outside Tel Aviv in his homeland. His condition was last night described as "serious". Paramedic Ronen Cohen said the star had "a serious head wound". He added: "Speed of arrival at the hospital is often critical so we flew him to the trauma room." The stricken idol's son Haim said: "Doctors are fighting for his life." Another son Tamir, who plays for Bolton, was given compassionate leave by his club to fly to his father's bedside. Cohen was one of ex-Gers boss Graeme Souness's first signings as he started his Ibrox revolution in the 1980s. He also played for Liverpool and is chairman of Israel's Professional Footballers' Association. 21. And what............?,what is it you are wanting him to say that he hasn't already said?. “There was only one team going to get the benefit of the season not being extended at that stage and that was Celtic. That's fairly obvious. http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/216554-smith-insists-spl-should-not-extend-season/
  22. Meanwhile, Smith revealed midfielder Maurice Edu and striker Kyle Lafferty should return this weekend to face Motherwell on Boxing Day. He said: ââ?¬Å?Maurice should be available again and hopefully it will be the same for Kyle. ââ?¬Å?He goes to a specialist on Friday and if he is given the all-clear heââ?¬â?¢ll go straight into the squad. He has still managed to train every day because it is a hand injury.ââ?¬Â http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/editor-s-picks/walter-smith-warns-spl-you-can-t-extend-season-1.1075590
  23. WALTER Smith does not believe an extension to the SPL season is necessary but says even if it was needed it wouldn't be possible. Walter SmithThe Rangers boss points to the 2007/08 season when Rangers were refused a request for a longer campaign on the back of their run to the UEFA Cup final. It left the Light Blues with a run of four fixtures in a week after that European run ended in Manchester. And Smith believes that, regardless of whether a longer season would aid his side this time round, a precedent was set two and a half years ago. He said: "They can't extend the season. They wouldn't do it for Rangers a couple of seasons ago so they aren't going to do it now are they? "The phrase 'sporting integrity' was used at the time when we were told the season couldn't be extended so how can it be extended now? "If one team could play four games in a week like we did, why can't all the teams do that? "If the season isn't going to be extended for one team, it can't be for any team. "They refused to do it then, so they can't do it now. Is that not fairly straight-forward?" Smith accepts that regardless of future postponements his side will face a busy schedule in 2011. That could be compounded by a positive set of results in continental competition, and the Rangers boss accepts that any potential extension would benefit his side, although he feels that stage has not been reached in any case. He added: "We're going to have a fixture backlog at the present moment, and ours will be worse if we have a run in the Europa League. "That's our only problem above any other teams, so it looks like we will have that problem. "Of course an extension would be of benefit to us, and that would have been a benefit we would have accepted two years ago and we tried to get it, but they said no. "Much as we would like them to extend the season, we would have liked them to extend the season a couple of years ago, we would like them to extend the season if it's necessary. But they can't. "I don't think we're at that stage yet though. Surely we have enough midweek dates to fit the games in. I don't think we need to extend the season so far."
  24. Celtic would "strongly oppose" any extension of the Scottish Premier League season, the club's chief executive has warned. Peter Lawwell was speaking as the SPL announced the date of Celtic's rearranged fixture against title rivals Rangers amid fixture congestion. "Clearly, an extension is something which we would be strongly opposed to," he said. "Thankfully, it seems the integrity of the league will not be threatened." Lawwell suggested that the SPL would be damaged "by playing any more games away from home stadia or by extending the season". Celtic will on Sunday face Gretna at Livingston's Almondvale Stadium after problems at Fir Park, Motherwell, where the south of Scotland side are tenants. The SPL have had a very testing time and we appreciate all they have done in trying to re-schedule matches Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell Following eight postponed games in two months, hosts Motherwell have undertaken work to improve the playing surface and drainage. But Rangers' midweek Scottish Cup quarter-final draw with Partick Thistle has further exacerbated the Ibrox club's fixture backlog. Walter Smith's side, who last weekend won the CIS Insurance Cup, are also still involved in the Uefa Cup. However, Lawwell is pleased that SPL chiefs Iain Blair and Lex Gold have so far resisted any extension of the season despite receiving some criticism for the fixture pile-up. "We're glad that the fixtures have been confirmed and are pleased that our game against Rangers has been set for Celtic Park on 16 April," said the Celtic chief executive. MY SPORT: DEBATE No matter what happens, the league must finish on time and, if that means teams need to play four games in eight days, then so be it MadderTim "It is also likely that our match against Motherwell will be played on 12 April at Fir Park. "We clearly sympathise with the inconvenience supporters have experienced this season due to fixture cancellations and re-scheduling. "I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank both Iain Blair and Lex Gold for all their efforts during this difficult period. "They have had a very testing time and we appreciate all they have done in trying to re-schedule matches." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/7309089.stm
