FORMER Rangers star Avi Cohen is fighting for his life in hospital after being seriously injured in a motorbike crash. The ex-Israel defender, 54, underwent emergency surgery after a collision with a car outside Tel Aviv in his homeland. His condition was last night described as "serious". Paramedic Ronen Cohen said the star had "a serious head wound". He added: "Speed of arrival at the hospital is often critical so we flew him to the trauma room." The stricken idol's son Haim said: "Doctors are fighting for his life." Another son Tamir, who plays for Bolton, was given compassionate leave by his club to fly to his father's bedside.
