They were lucky but who can blame for the SFA for taking some revenge by using the rules to their advantage this time? Moreover, Regan had prejudiced these cases beforehand with his comments so I'm sure Rangers made that clear as well to our benefit.
-
It was rhetorical of course but it is a question any serious commentator should be asking of them...
-
I think that is the funniest thing I've ever seen. Brilliant!

Why do BBC Scotland insist on giving this chancer a platform? He's supposedly not speaking for Lennon or Celtic so who cares what his 'tiny-brained' opinion is?

Webchat: Discuss the Rangers takeover with Tom English

Not seen that but he does have decent information IMO - although I'm not sure where he gets it from. He's an odd character who I can't figure out at all. -
Can't remember mate. They definitely took advantage of the wording though which goes against their 'moral' principles.
-
Of course morally he didn't but as far as the SFA rules are, he did serve it unfortunately. No problems with sporting integrity there for Lawwell et al.
-
He did serve it according to the rules - it was just served concurrently due to to McBride's input. Another breach in the next two years will see him receive an automatic 6 match ban though IIRC.

It was quite disappointing that such comments weren't moderated out of the debate so the real questions could be answered. There were a few good put-downs though. -

English will know fine who Phil is and what he is saying. -

People can say what they like about Wabash, oldcrafty, spangles or whatever alias he uses across the community at the moment but, for the most part, his information has been correct. -

Yeah, I was asking the questions from GN. I'm not sure he knows all that much more than the rest of us. He does seem confident though which is fair enough. -
Surely the SFA could sue the person themselves anyway.
-
Regan is all mouth and no trousers. He and the incompetent SFA will do nothing but cower in their Hampden offices. Again.
-
Very interesting mate!

Yeah there is definitely a propaganda war being played out. Only certainty is that nobody knows how close this deal is to fruition.
-
Again, Whyte has proven he has the money to buy the club. A deal was agreed in principle over a month ago with MIH. However, as far as I'm aware, he still has not shown how he intends to finance the club going forward (i.e. this £5million per annum transfer budget). That is the main stumbling block. Obviously other factors such as the outstanding tax query (and the new tax liability) will be being used by Whyte to reduce the price to help him finance investment. The fact he's having to do this is perhaps good business sense but it also raises questions about his net-worth.
-
Of course not but they will be coming from those who are not exactly pro-Whyte (such as existing directors). I'd suggest that if Whyte wants to buy the club and is capable of financing that purchase and the ongoing investment he should be doing so asap. Sure, low season ticket income and not winning the league may reduce the price further but the price may also go up if the opposite happens. Meanwhile we're being asked for at least £422 which is bordering on emotional blackmail given the uncertainty.

I'd have thought it would make sense for any potential buyer to approach the high-net worth Rangers community for their contributions - be it financial or strategic. What I think is happening here is a game being played out. Both sides of this sale are using the media and/or well placed fans to put out their side of the deal as it is playing out. For example: SDM/MIH will be keen to pressure Whyte into a quick 'expensive' sale by leaking questions about his financial viability. Conversely, Whyte will be keen to question/pressure the bank to reduce the price. Only clear thing for me is this is all taking a bit too long IMO. Season ticket renewal deadline is May 12th - I'd offer that as Judgement Day.
-
Yes they did which is why he was on the touchline last night.
-
I think the problem we may have here is that Whyte is looking for contributions from people who think they may be able to buy the club themselves for the money being talked about.

We still owned them 5 years ago according to the Arsenal Supporters Trust. I doubt we'd sell them at any point as they're more a symbolic thing than anything else. If forced I'd fancy we'd gift them back to Arsenal or to their supporters trust.
