  1. I agree. The same goes for our absent owner and our manager who has added to the uncertainty. The problem is - as we seen from the AGM and Tuesday's Assembly meeting - the club have an official line and are apparently not keen to err from it so the intervention of Johnston or Murray would be pointless. Only Smith seems to want to stir the proverbial but not enough to make a proper stand.
  2. I thought the lad spoke very well while Andy Kerr also seemed comfortable enough with the club's response. As ever, more information required.

  4. St Mirren or Rangers v Dundee Utd
  5. Have the RST made a formal report to their members?
  6. How did I know the boss would be the only one who would click that....?
  7. No idea but the RST rep was definitely there...
  8. Nonsense from Sky... Keane is from planet Krypton and he's here to save the world!
  9. Yes - the RST has a rep on the Assembly committee and he was there - going by the photograph.
  10. My mistake regarding his status. On what basis do you have that belief about his remit?
  11. All fair points which I'm sure the protest organisers will agree with. I said in my initial reply to this thread everything was a bit rushed and imperfect. I don't agree with all the statement wording, I don't agree with the flyer wording and I'm unsure about the overall affect of what is being attempted. Perhaps the biggest flaw is the lack of a real target but given Donald Muir is a director of Rangers FC (and thus an employee), an employee of MIH and an expert in the bank's strategy; then it is pretty clear he is in the best position to answer the queries we all share about the club. In saying that, others have their place in the debate as well (from our manager, chairman, owner and potential owner(s)) but it isn't easy to factor every little thing into a statement that needs to be easy to read/understand. Thus, while I share your doubt about the quality of the work behind the scenes so far, what I can't argue with is the effort and commitment the people behind this have put into organising it - from attempting to get every fan group/site on board and contributing; to raising substantial funds; to accepting then acting upon criticisms; and from looking to improve the 'movement' via other future initiatives if necessary. That doesn't exempt them from criticism but I'm glad they've made the effort and I'm happy to highlight what they're trying to achieve for the moment.
  12. As someone who has attended similar meetings, information is often given that is requested remains private. Not sure if that was the case here (possibly not given the number of people at the meeting) but occasionally minutes are kept succinct for genuine reasons. I'm sure the Trust representative in particular will have been vocal so I guess we'll have to wait and see what his interpretation of the meeting is. Andy Kerr and Ross Blyth are no mugs either - same goes for a few of the other faces there - so hopefully more was said than has been reported. However, I doubt it will have been enough to head off any protest given the official line is no different to what it was before the protest was organised.
  13. IIRC, this meeting was previously arranged Pete before any protest... The Assembly have them quarterly with Bain.
  14. Depends on whether the published answers are different from the ones given in situ. Of course the answers given only reaffirm the official line so we wait and see if anything else filters out.
  15. Seems the club has offered up a few answers at their quarterly meeting with the Assembly yesterday.... As such, hopefully this is a small sign that they have taken notice of our frustration and have at least tried to address them. Not sure where that leaves this Sunday's protest but I'd imagine the general situation hasn't changed as the rumours never match the official comments.
  16. Would like to have kept him for another year but I accept his reasons for wanting to leave.
  17. Yes it was going to be... Evening Times have mentioned the protest but referred to the fans group statement - as opposed to this 'unofficial' one - which makes sense. They made an error in saying it was to be outside the stadium but I emailed Matthew Lindsay and he changed it within a few mins.
  18. To be fair Papac did well when played at centre-back earlier in this season (forget against who)...
  19. Must admit I was a bit disappointed with Smith as well on Saturday. Thought he looked really share when he came on against Falkirk last weekend and he did OK at Hampden on Wednesday. However, he was poor at Love Street so the quicker we get the more reliable Papac back the better. As much as Smith has blooded a few youngsters this season, I think, given the option he's go for the experienced player first even if - like in the case of his name-sake - they've not been playing all that often.
  20. Good news - if we could get Edu and Beasley fit as well, that would mean a full squad for the first time I can remember in a long while!
  21. I like this one from Boss! SUPPORT THE TEAM - QUESTION THE REGIME
  22. First of all - while I don't think this statement is perfect by any manner of means - I think it is a positive that some fans have decided to try and precipitate some clarity by working with the whole of the online community to try and get the message of supporter confusion out into the open. Add in subsequent flyer drops, banners and chants which will form part of the protest; and associated media coverage; then we will also be trying to reach the offline supporter who may not otherwise be in receipt of information that the rest of us have debated in recent times. To that end, I think this protest is valuable and worth supporting because it seeks clarity. I'm not convinced one man or one organisation is to blame - Walter Smith, Donald Muir, Alistair Johnston and Sir David Murray have all played their part in aiding confusion - deliberately or otherwise. Rangers FC, Lloyds Bank, the media and fan groups have done similar. As such, it is difficult to focus the protest or the questions we have easily. The questions remain regardless of blame so the point of the protest (for me) is to try and find the answers while placing some slight pressure on all via the strength of our loyal support. Meanwhile, we maintain our clear support for the management team and players as it is essential we win the SPL this season - no matter how good or bad the financial situation is. Will it work? I honestly don't know but at least we're moving forward in trying to organise the fans into a group who can try and find the answers we need. Therefore, please criticise obviously, but please keep it constructive; respect our right to ask the questions and, finally, if you have any ideas or suggestions for the protest (or indeed a different strategy), let us hear them.
  23. It has been announced that a group of Rangers fans - backed by all official fan groups and all unofficial fansites in the online community (including Gersnet) - are to hold a peaceful protest within Ibrox Stadium this Sunday. You can read the statement released by the group below.
