Considering the club's financial position we can't afford to keep McGregor and Alexander (both of whom I'd be happy to keep and play). One should go so we can sign another central defender with the money (as well as another back-up goalie obviously).

The club (and parent company) finances are obviously an ongoing issue but I don't think the situation is quite as murky as people make it to be.

MF: Nothing as yet I'm afraid. Hoping to have further news very soon though - probably over the next week or so. Assembly have been busy organising their AGM/annual dinner (which are scheduled to take place next weekend) and key club figures have obviously been busy with outgoing transfers and TV business. I'm hoping STS will now be coming to the top of their respective agendas though. As soon as I have concrete news on this, I'll be contacting various websites in the usual manner so they can make their members aware of progress. -
Jon, You'll get into the WRC with the young uns... Not sure if they're taking money for entry tomorrow though. Like last year, it may be free with it being the first match of the season.

Snodgrass was always a prodigious talent but went off the rails at Livi apparently... Seems the move to Leeds has served him well. The others are all reasonably well known and probably out of our reach financially.

An excellent balanced article which sums up the situation for me. Of course we need to strengthen. But only where absolutely necessary and in line with our financial obligations. At the same time though, this can't be a regular thing. We'll need to buy again at some point and it is imperative that the club re-examines its strategy to enable us to do that effectively.

Lad need to be patient. I don't think he showed anything particularly outstanding last season - certainly not enough to play every week. He should channel his frustrations into better performances - not falling out with key staff. Of course the words mountain and molehill spring to mind here...
