  1. Stewart is an attacking midfielder, he won’t be playing in the striker’s position.
  2. Yes, I really thought we'd get one. A Ronald de Boer type player who can play both CAM and CM. Assuming we are playing the 4-3-2-1 it is far more important than a winger. I suspect Gerrard doesn't want to freeze out Murphy and Stewart before they've had a chance make the position their own. Arfield has cemented his place and it's a matter of who plays beside him. Ojo will be a strong contender too despite it not being his natural position. I still wonder if we will be asking 7/8 out of 10 players to unlock a stubborn Aberdeen defence when a few million might have got us the 9 out of 10 player we need to win the league.
  3. Ojo is done as ITK people have said weeks ago but Kent is still just people starting rumours as far as I can see.
  4. Liverpool Echo claimed that Liverpool were planning on raising as much as possible from selling rather than loaning out a bunch of their young players this summer. They had 16 out on loan last season and they reckon they can make a huge amount of money from selling apparently. This was why they cast doubt on the Kent to Rangers rumour a couple of weeks ago.
  5. I saw that but it's another rumour out of thin air, almost certainly rubbish. I don't think Kent will be back.
  6. Goldson was an example of a "marquee" signing of sorts. He cost real money and and we all expected that we were getting a top player who we thought would be out of our range. This is the kind of "marquee" signing I want to see again. The squad filler signings are fine but we need to improve the starting 11. Re-signing Kent doesn't get me excited because I want to see us start the season with a stronger starting 11, not the same starting 11 with a different bench which is arguably where we are so far.
  7. One of the first believable and credible things we’ve heard this summer. Aribo would be a real coup by all accounts. In terms of the first 11 though none of the above make much of a difference I wouldn’t say. A fully fit Olsson maybe but he’s missed the second half of the season.
  8. "Kids & grown up love him so, the happy world of Aribo"
  9. It's very frustrating when people post stuff like that in such a certain way without saying whether their source could actually possibly have that knowledge. I don't believe it for a minute. Liverpool have every reason in the world to bide their time and see if there is interest in a transfer. Their intention is to sell off as many players in this category as possible this summer rather than loaning again.
  10. I think there will be egg on a lot of faces with regards to Kent. Imo he won’t be back.
  11. I think Tavernier would have had 20-30% more assists this season if we’d played 4-3-2-1 all season. The space and opportunity to get forward he had was amazing. Imo that formation simply wouldn’t work without a Tavernier style player there like Flanagan. Although I think as a club we need to be cashing in on players to build for the future our chances of winning the title would take a huge blow if he leaves.
  12. Bids for Tavernier are inevitable surely. What a season. I think 8 digit bids are very unlikely for a 27/28 year old right back playing in Scotland though. I’d love to be proved wrong on that one but the big money seems to be reserved for young players with big potential.
  13. One of my favourite left backs of the modern era. Never understood how he never got a move to a title challenging side. That said, it’s a no from me.
  14. If true make it a 6 month loan to a Premiership club. I'd prefer he was involved here but I'd love to see how he'd get on at a Motherwell/St Johnstone type club too.
  15. Stuani is way out of our league. There is no chance we are in the race to sign him,
  16. Why would St Mirren "open talks with Rangers" when his contract is expiring anyway?

Wow that's an old thread ?
  18. McGinn probably is yeh. He’s excelled in a far stronger league. And look at Hibs’ collapse without him.
  19. I’m calling bull on Kent to Villa for £10m. There’s no way he’s ready for the EPL or worth that kind of cash. Time will tell.
  20. Transfermarkt is unreliable for formations.it has us playing 4-3-3 to the end of the season. Stewart played either CAM or or right sided attacking midfield for Kilmarnock.
  21. He wasn't a centre forward. Kilmarnock played a 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 as far as I am aware with a front three of Jordan Jones, Eomann Brophy and Greg Stewart.
  22. Absolutely. Our fans like to say ah it's easy for Hearts to play youth players, they don't have the pressure but we have to win everything. I think this is totally wrong. How much would Levein love to have the luxury of blooding youth players when he's coasting 3-0 up. Hearts are never in that position, almost every game could go either way for them and dropped points normally means dropping a position. We won 13 domestic games by at least 3 goals this season but the most appearances made by our youth players (bar Middleton) was 1 and my guess is that they were late substitutions. I think that is a very poor show indeed. Edit: And even Middleton himself should have seen far more game time in those circumstances
  23. Good post that sums up how most fans feel I think. This is the bit that worries me though, it seems that clauses of some sort are non-negotiable now. Many have forgotten now that Ejaria was undroppable while he was here. Personally I wasn't happy that Kent was undroppable during the busy spell of the season too. A full 90 minutes 7 times in a month was unnecessary with a Middleton who had started the season very strongly on the bench and who had racked up goals and assists very quickly. There was no squad rotation. I suspect Gerrard will restrict himself to one loan this season and it will be a player who he has a lot of faith in (Ojo it seems).
  24. Ojo is happening by all accounts. From the YouTube compilation I think he looks a better player than Kent.
  25. Great listens throughout the season guys, well done and thanks.
