Has Our Title Dream Died!

Recommended Posts

Just home from the match, and im a sick as a parrot, having witnessed possibly the best 45 minutes of football in the first half, my team hit the self-destruct button and all but probably kill our title bid for this season and now the post mortem must begin into how me managed to be in total control of a game that we never looked like losing and managed to avoid defeat!!!

The floor is yours fellow bears.

I could blame the defence but then again we have been losing goals from high balls all season. the goals were terrible defending though.

Set pieces, corners and high balls have been our achilles heel all season. It has already accounted for our European aspirations and the League Cup, so why has nothing been done about it? What do they do at Auchenhowie?

To be fair, we have the best defensive record in the league, well before today.I have to agree with gers4life's op regarding the first half, it was excellent and Lafferty showed he is a very capable striker with his finish, and also his work rate was immense, I just hope his injury is minor.I could not believe the second half............Novo missed a great chance at 2-0 which would have endd the game as a contest, BF had his best game for a long time and took his goal superbly,Dailly & McCulloch played well, my only criticism of WS today is he should have taken Boyd off earlier, Boyd really needs to take a good look at himself as he was awful the whole game, still can't believe we never won that game today. Is the ouur title dream over ?, well I still refuse to believe so, however we need/needed to win all our remaining games and considering we have not won three games on the trot all season it was always going to take an lmighty effort, this result doesn't make me think we will win the SPL, we could/should have went top of the league today to pile on a bit of pressure and once again we failed when it mattered. It's not over till the fat lady sings..............but as I said I don't hold out much hope

We don't have the mental character to win anything never mind a league title.

Still in shock tonight after an excellent first half full of passion, industry and commitment.

How these qualities can disappear after only 15 mins of the second half is beyond my comprehension?

Anyone else think St Mirren might fancy their chances of a day out at Hampden in May?

Honestly no, as Love Street and indeed the new sh1thole is tight ... Hampdump is huge, and we need to use the width and run them into the ground.

But with Walter in charge we will play 4-5-1 and go for the defensive approach.

I'm starting to get deja vu from McLeish's final season, that feeling that any team might fancy their chances against us. Of course we're overwhelming favourites, but in our fuck-ups this season we don't seem to discriminate between top 6 sides and bottom 6 sides (St Mirren, Inverness). After all, St Mirren did beat us when we were supposedly on a roll after the piggery 4-2.

I remember how confident I was before St Johnstone last season...

Right now I don't think the title has gone, living in hope,as there is a lot of games to go.We played some terrific football yesterday and if Novo had scored or squared the ball for Boyd to tap in the game was over IMO. I've still to see the Hearts goals again so until I see them I will reserve my opinion, however I just refuse to throw the towel in for now, I have no doubt the MOPES will drop more points, unfortunately we will also drop points so let's keep believing for now
