Wow.. even though it was only 6 minutes... Leon King and Aaron Lyall got game time.  Leon is a 2003 so technically U15 I believe.... that’s a 2 year step up.  Very impressive from a young lad who potentially has a very, very bright future in the game !

Elfi, are they really playing Shiels at LB ?  It’s only a couple of years ago he was striker if I’m not mistaken.  How does he look there ??

Matthew has played at left back ocassionally over the years, he played mainly as a left sided attacker, and sometimes as the main striker.

Recently he has played left back for Rangers and Scotland. Currently on loan at Edinburgh City and played the last two ninety minutes against Elgin and Stenhousemuir at Left Back. So far he looks like it could be a good change of position for him.

Aaron is a 2003, Leon is actually a 2004!!  He rarely plays with the 2004's, plays for 2003's every week.

Both came on for the 17's in recent Glasgow Cup tie, Leon got 15 mins and Aaron a couple.

Wouldn't be hard to tell who in fairness.... but the words I got from an ex-Rangers player was "Leon King takes my breathe away - he has absolutely everything to make it".  My kid is a 2004 (so 13 yrs old) as well and played against Leon when he was 9 - even back then it was very clear to me that Leon had massive potential - alongside the other kid that played with him at Barrhead..... who now plays for "them" despite being from a Gers-supporting family.

I thought Leon was a 2003, all the more impressive then that he is getting game time at U17 when he is still technically U14.  He is the new jewel in the crown IMHO.  But I am not surprised.  I suspect people will speak about him the same way they spoke about Billy Gilmour.
