Tevez To West Ham.

Recommended Posts

What a signing this is for the hammers.

West Ham United are set to pull off a major coup by the signing Argentine stars Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United were all thought to be competing for the duo, along with some of the continents elite including Bayern Munich and Milan.

However, The Hammers have struck a deal with Media Sports Investments (MSI) - who own the rights to the Corinthians pair.

South American sources claim Portsmouth were also in line to broker a move, but it seems MSI have decided that a move to West Ham will best serve their prize assets.

The deal is believed to be initially for a season-long

loan for the duo - but it could become permanent if all parties are happy, although it remains to be seen whether West Ham could affor them with both players carrying price tags of over £15 million.

The pair are both currently already in England ahead of this weekend's Brazil versus Argentina clash at Arsenal's brand new Emirates Stadium and this has aided the move.

A statement on Tevez's website states a move to Upton Park for himself and Mascherano has been sealed.

"Carlitos Tevez along with his former Corinthians team-mate, Javier Mascherano, has signed a contract to play with West Ham United of England," read the statement.

It's the proverbial carrot being dangled in front of United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Corinthians have been planning for ages to loan the pair of them out to a mid-table Premiership side to lure the lieks of Chelsea into spending silly money on them.

But after the WC they just had this is a dangerous game for Corinthians to play because if they DON'T do the business their worth will be less than it was just after the WC where they both had solid tournaments.

That's a fair point infact. Everyone knows the quality they have, but if they don't adapt to the Premiership and what-not, Chelsea and the likes might think twice.

Good point Craig-o.

IF they get them then i sincerely look forward to watching them play.

both EXCELLENT players and imho WORLD CLASS!!!

Indeed they are - and it will be a HUGE coup for the Hammers !! I think every team in the EPL would like these players in their sqaud (Chelsea I am sure would like Tevez, maybe not Mascherano as they have plenty of players in midfield) but every other team they would more than likely be starters.

West Ham could be in for a very good season

PS Thanks Beattie for the compliment my man
