January 2011 Transfer Window - Healy, Diouf and Bartley IN

Recommended Posts

Somewhere to stick the latest headlines for the latest installment of the silly season.

I'll kick things off:

Rangers line up Bosman for Killie Goalkeeper Cammy Bell

• Bell is yet to sign an extension to his deal at Kilmarnock

• Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor expected to leave

• The 24-year-old, who kept his latest clean sheet during yesterday's win at St Mirren, is yet to sign an extension to his contract at Rugby Park, which expires at the end of this season.

  • That has alerted Rangers, whose goalkeeping coach, Jim Stewart, has overseen Bell's arrival into the Scotland international setup. Bell earned his first cap during the friendly with the Faroe Islands in November.
Rangers' first-choice goalkeeper, Allan McGregor, is expected to leave Ibrox for England at the end of the season. Manchester United have kept a close eye on McGregor, as have Aston Villa and Birmingham City.
With that in mind, McGregor's current deputy, Neil Alexander, recently signed a new deal to keep him at Rangers until 2013.
In light of Bell's likely departure, Kilmarnock are to welcome the Finnish goalkeeper Ansi Jaakkola to the club on a two and a half-year deal. Jaakkola, previously of Slavia Prague, spent a brief trial period with the Ayrshire side last month.
Kilmarnock have already lost a key performer with the full-back Ben Gordon returning to Chelsea at the end of his half-season loan period. Chelsea want to send Gordon for a similar spell at a Championship club, with Bristol City leading the race for his signature.

I also saw the other day we were linked with the awful Billly Mehmet, who is another striker it does worry the amount of striker we get linked with.

From the Sky Sports website:

Clubs from the Premier League, Championship and SPL are on alert after Billy Mehmet became available on a free transfer, skysports.com can reveal.

The former West Ham and St Mirren striker joined Turkish outfit Genclerbirligi in the summer on a Bosman transfer.

Mehmet has been a regular all season, scoring two goals in 14 appearances.

But the Turkish outfit are believed to be looking to cut costs and are ready to let some of their foreign squad members depart.

One of those is Mehmet, who has now mutually agreed to terminate his deal in order for him to seal a move.

And skysports.com understands that a host of clubs are ready to battle for the 27-year-old's signature.

Wigan, Sheffield United and Bristol City are all keen, while Rangers, Aberdeen and Hearts are all looking to taking him back to Scotland.

Christ on a bike!!! :brick:

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere or if there's some transfer thread I know nothing about, but apparently we've been linked to Mehmet on a free, and the Daily Record have Marseille in for Miller for a cut price £500k.
