January 2011 Transfer Window - Healy, Diouf and Bartley IN

Stranger things have happened! Rafa signed Kyrgiakos who was a total bomb scare at times for us, but he's done surprisingly well at Liverpool.

I thought Soti was fantastic for us - he was voted in the team of the group stage of the CL when he was with us, and was domestically excellent - he was a little patchier in his second season but I was still gutted when he was the first player PLG got rid of.

Why is it always the same players every transfer window we get linked with and none come true? Are the journalists that lazy or short of stories they print this pish...........

Hermann Hreidarsson

Eidur Gudjohnson

Gattuso

Lovenkrands

David Healy

etc etc

Surely they can get some new names for their stories :meh:

Maybe they intercepted Walter Smiths Christmas list to Santa

Walter Smith saying in his BBC interview after the game at Easter Road there that it doesn't look like we'll be bringing any players in before the transfer window closes.

This is now coming up to the time where agents and managers start throwing unwanted players at you. The top price for them will no longer be paid. There are bargains but a whole lot of dross. We have fallen for a lot of dross in the past so maybe no news is good news.

Skysports.com understands Rangers are considering a move for Hibernian forward Derek Riordan to boost their attacking options.

Rangers have lost Kenny Miller to Bursaspor this month and have also missed out on Derby County attacker Kris Commons, who is poised to join Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Former Celtic striker Riordan has now emerged as a potential target for Gers boss Walter Smith ahead of the closure of the transfer window.

Smith is trying to improve his squad and is weighing up whether to make an offer for the Scotland international.

Riordan has started Hibs' last two SPL matches on the bench and appeared as a second-half substitute in Wednesday's 2-0 home defeat by Rangers.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and he would be a cut-price option for Gers in the quest to replace the departed Miller.
