Breaking news on SSN: Whyte to buy RFC next week

Recommended Posts

So if this goes through, how much will Ally have to spend on rebuilding the squad?

Supposedly £5million per year plus any player sales/Euro income...

No indication of where this money would come from though...:(

I'm not convinced by Whyte. Don't know what it is , but I have an uneasy feeling about him.

Completely natural given we know next to nothing about him. He's a stranger.

Personally I think him appearing at Ibrox last night says a lot.

It should mean something as he wasn't advised not to attend this time.

I agree it's the first significant signal that there just might be some prospect of Murray selling. It's just difficult to raise any hopes after the bullshit we've had to wade through these last few years. It'll be one hell of a party if Murray does sell though ....... time enough then to take a look at Whyte and form opinions.

I am told that Ellis will be in Glasgow next week with a view to the deal being concluded next Friday as suggested on this thread. He is still the junior partner (25% loan from Whyte) and is not putting in any hard cash.

I agree with those who are sceptical about the £5m a year from Whyte unless he is going to somehow turn assets into players; I have heard nothing to suggest that he will be digging into his own pockets and we don't know how deep they are anyway.

I will try to find out what Whyte said to Mortimer, if anything.
