Dundee Utd release a strange statement about Goodwillie

Recommended Posts

I had heard both charges were to be dropped don't know if there is any truth in that though.

I think the statement from Thompson is an act of a desperate man he knows Goodwillie wants to play for Rangers and is trying to get us to make a bid.

I think we will get him if/when charges are dropped for considerably less than the £2m they have stated.

Matter of fact, it is well known that we only asked them what the price is. It is also known that Ally and Smith got back to business only on Monday, so no wonder we have not moved ahead on that front.

As for charges, I do assume the press would have told us about it, but you do not find one single bit on info about this. Actually, I think I read earlier this week that he will be heard "later this week" in connection with the supposed assault charge, not the supposed rape thing. I do assume that anyone intending to buying him will be in know about his postion though.

Anyone in the know how long it took a certain Walter Smith to attract his first big name signing?

Roughly 2 months. He took over in April 1991 and he signed Goram on the 27th of June of the same year I believe.

How times have changed.
