You been drinking?:ninja:

That was never a penalty Craig, never. Stokes gets his shot away well before STOKES makes contact with the keeper, the keeper has his whole body on the ground and Stokes trails his legs to make contact.

Never a penalty.

The fact that Stokes played the ball isn't that relevant IMO. The keeper put his whole body on the ground in front of Stokes as you say and therefore tripped Stokes.

If it was outside the box and a player threw himself to the ground in front of a player running fast and the player tripped over him, it would be a free kick. Just becuase it's a goalie doesn't mean it's OK.

Depending on the referees interpretation of any challenge. I interprate that challenge differntly from you.

At the end of the day who cares, the BHEASTS got beat:grin:

I think the problem is that the keeper made it too easy for the ref to give a penalty. Stokes did cheat by making the most of it and engineering the trip, as he knew his lob had missed - but football is a sport where cheating is accepted, condoned and often encouraged - "It's all part of the modern game."

Had a look at it and the only question that remains is: what was the position of the officials. From midfield, this might well have looked like a penalty. From the touchline, it should be obvious that Stokes took a nice dive. He played the ball (and could have done much better, btw) and after miss-hitting, milked the occasion. Did they actually show a red card to the goalie?
