Graham Stack off the hook

Recommended Posts

STV understands the Scottish Football Association is in the process of gathering evidence following an incident involving Hibernian keeper Graham Stack.

Stack was caught on camera appearing to elbow Rangers’ forward Kyle Lafferty, after the two collided during Saturday’s Scottish Premier League fixture between the two sides.

Match referee Stevie O’Reilly didn’t spot the incident at the time but the Scottish FA’s compliance officer could now review the matter, before deciding whether there is a case to answer.

If sufficient evidence is brought to the Scottish FA's attention, Hibs and Stack must be made aware by 3pm on Tuesday that a case will be referred to the Judicial Panel.

If a case is brought, the player has the opportunity to accept a fixed penalty, which for violent conduct is a suspension of two matches.

Should Hibs decline to accept the penalty, a three-man Fast Track Tribunal, made up of former players, managers, referees and legal experts, will decide whether a punishment should be imposed.

Rangers were 1-0 winners over Hibs in Saturday’s match, with Lafferty scoring the winning goal midway through the second half.
