He joined, then a year or so later was talking up how good he was and how he'd move on given the chance following the world cup/CL. We then went through constant crap about him wanting to leave, and then his dejection at admitting he was only here last season because he didn't get any offers. Then he leaves, saying our contract offer to him 'made him sick in his stomach' - because, as we all know, the notion of being paid anything more than £5000 a week is an insult to any human being in this economic climate.
