The Sun: No Europe next season

Recommended Posts

Something that just sprang to mind ... given that HMRC wins the case (and we for the time being just accept it), wouldn't it be the supporters' as much as the club's obligation to pay this EBT bill? The reasoning is quite simple: if it is true that we "paid" these players from/via the EBTs and they brought success to the club in one way or another, the "service" as such has been done but not been paid for in full. So while it would hurt now, we would simply pay for the success we had back then. Not ideal and sure not much of a topic if we win the case (and HMRC do not pursue it till the end of days), but methinks we all agree to an extent that we probably walked some sort of a grey-area tightrope. People will sure come and claim that SDM's to blame and should pay up ... but coming from a Germany background were players and staff are usually paid by club membership schemes et al, I think the success we bought back then needs to be paid for. If SDM and cohorts take in part in that, all the better ... and it would sure raise their status amongst the Bears, if only a little.

The admins are the court's men and if they show any hint of impartiality, they will be jobless in no time. Or so I am told.

Admins interview in the Scotsman

The admins are there to work in the best interests of the creditors, the main one being CW, or so he claims. Just because the admins claim that they are wanting CW to give up his shares, that doesn't mean he will, or they can compel him to.

It also raises the question of how serious they are about getting his shares, considering they were appointed by CW.

how long does it take for accounts to be audited ?

does anyone know ?

Even if audited accounts are filed on time the fact that we are delinquent with the PAYE and no payment plan is in place prevents us from playing in Europe next season.

I'd be surprised if the accounts have not already been audited. They will just not be signed off due to a number of reasons, including Whyte's fraudulent use of off balance sheet finance.

Interesting choice of word there from someone not known for hyperbole !
