Walter Smith leads bid to buy Rangers

Recommended Posts

We do NOT want an anti-Green protest. That would be unfair on Green who stepped up when no one else did. I have nothing against his bid, supported it from the start, but he cannot compete with Walter.

Yep well said.

I think the McColl bid is now a stick on. :)

However, Green isn't daft so will be keen to maximise his return. This means a likely bidding war with Ng et al as well as anyone else who fancies their chances.

Fan goodwill is hugely important and as genuine as I think Ng has been compared to others, I'm not sure he'll be able to survive the process should, as expected, Green be willing to sell.

They might just join forces the more money the better.

I was going to suggest that this might be the end game of an elaborate plan.

But, I have my fill of factless, conspiracy rantings to last me a lifetime. WATP.

The message from within Charles Green's camp re Walter Smith-fronted bid is: talk to us if you want to buy club, not admin or liquidators.

Their investors are looking for a return on the money already spent on legal fees, etc. That shouldn't stop men of McColl and Park's money.
