Rangers members of the English FA ... a wee while back

Did the rules not change when football in Scotland became professional and as such it was stated that any member of the Scottish FA would no longer play under any other national association.

It would seem that the only way a team is allowed to play in another country would be if there was no professional league in their own. The Welsh clubs as well as certain others have history on their side because while the circumstances in their own countries may have changed they were already members of the English association when that change occurred.

As it stand the only way Rangers can play under the English FA is if we sold Ibrox and moved the club onto English soil. My preference would not be to join the English FA but instead to use Fifa's dislike of the British Associations special circumstances to our advantage. We should lobby to have the individual associations merged into a UK football association, with a UK national team and as a result we would have to create a British league system.

A premiership of 10 English clubs, 6 Scottish clubs, 3 Northern Irish clubs and 3 Welsh clubs to make a league of 22 teams. The other clubs from around the country and each level of the game would be merged into the other divisions below the British premier league where appropriate.

Will never happen mate, too may people would lobby against it.

I would expect Hollyrood to lead the charge to bloke any UK FA or British league.

We're not SFA members atm. While we're without a league, we could always seek political asylum from UEFA and the English FA on grounds of sectarian difficulties. Derry City used that excuse to move from the Irish League to the League of Ireland.

Now fasten your seatbells, di Stefano has inded written to the English FA sayning that a) Rangers were a member before they were incorporated, b) they may never have lost the membership, d) may still have a right to play in the English FA's league, and e) that he actually has Middle East people willing to buy RAngers Football Club plc (in administration) with all liabilities et al.

As in: Rangers FC could play in England, while Rangers Football Club plc may actually continue and the share in SPL et al is not withdrawn. Or something to this end. Two Rangers then.

As ludicrous as it sounds, just for the fun of it, imagine the faces of the SFA/SPL people reading this!
