We've had Craig Beattie & Kevin Kyle training with us (or on trial) last week and there's rumours flying around about us being set to sign Dean Shiels. SunSport understands the ex-Killie and Hibs ace has virtually agreed the terms and is ready to snub a tempting counter offer from Danish champions Nordsjaelland. That would have guaranteed him action in the Champions League group stages. But Shiels has been persuaded by Gers boss McCoist to stay in Scottish football and help the newco club’s bid to battle back to the SPL from the Third Division by 2015. The frontman was shortlisted in the PFA Scotland Player of the Year awards after helping his dad’s Killie beat Celtic in the League Cup Final.
