Hearts plead with fans to buy tickets as SPL faces life without Rangers

Recommended Posts

HEARTS last night pleaded with fans to support them against St Johnstone on Saturday as the SPL kicks off without Rangers.

The Jambos, who strongly backed the decision to kick out the Ibrox outfit, have sold more than 8000 season tickets but are hoping for a late sales rush.

In a statement to fans the club said: â??Together with you we have been fighting for the right thing for Scottish football and we have achieved a victory that will make history.

â??We need to sustain this development and rebuff the critics. Many clubs say they will face increased financial pressure.

â??Hearts are confident that with your active support we will be able to defend our achievements and fight for the top.â?

Hearts boss John McGlynn also appealed to the fans to turn out in numbers.

Saturdayâ??s clash with Saints will be his first game in charge of the Gorgie outfit.

And he would love to see a bumper crowd pack Tynecastle to see theScottish Cup winners.

McGlynn said: â??I hope there will be a big crowd for the opening game.

â??After a good pre-season everyone is enthusiastic and encouraged by what we have seen and we are ready for the new season to start.

â??Iâ??m desperate to get off to a winning start as manager of this club.â?

"WE have achieved a victory that will make history"......Get that in your dossier CG. What kind of a statement is that?

And you can bet he wasn't talking about winning the Scottish Cup with that statement. And they've got the cheek to punish CG for saying what everyone already knows.

Surely that's a statement that Green can use as evidence of a hate campaign?

I caught a bit of superscoreboard last night. Timmy on the phone talking about (shock) Rangers. Anyway, Keevins said to him what do you guys want? You said vote out Rangers or we won't buy season tickets. They did. Now you say season ticket isn't worth it without 4 Old Firm games a season.
