Rangers 2-3 Stirling University

RANGERS returned to New Tinto Park after the summer break looking to pick up where they left off in Govan, but ended up going down to Stirling University in a five goal thriller.

After the narrow away defeat against Forfar Farmington a fortnight ago, Gers made two changes, with Chelsie Watson and Sarah Robertson dropping to the bench and out of the squad respectively and Leah Eddie slotting back in alongside Gillian Inglis, who was making her Rangers debut after recently joining from Hamilton Academical.

Sadly enough, despite trying their best, the Women fell to their second hom defeat on the trott, being beaten 1-0 by Spartans.

RANGERS had hoped to get back to winning ways in the Scottish Women’s Premier League on Sunday but they failed to do so against Spartans at New Tinto Park.

Quick check of the league essenitally shows a clear dominance by Glasgow City (again) and Hibernian, who lead the pack with 44 points each, the rest ist trailing by 20 points or more.

No Rangers Women involved there, as they bowed out two rounds ago after extra time to Hamilton Academical. The latter have since been eliminated by Hutchison Vale (Edinburgh University).

Scotland's women beat Albania away from home yesterday and thus qualified for the World Cup in 2019 (methinks the very first time ever).

SWPL: Celtic 0:0 Rangers

RANGERS played out a goalless draw in the final Old Firm Derby of the SWPL season on Sunday at K-Park.

Each side had one win each going into the third derby game and the teams could not be separated in what was a very tight and hard fought affair.

Next up for Rangers is a tough fixture against league leaders Glasgow City. Rangers will make the short trip to Petershill Park on the 23rd September with kick off scheduled for 2:10pm.
